Saints signed Taco Charlton (1 Viewer)

Haha yes...I am pretty sure it was indeed you actually. Fun times.

He did have that one 5 sacks season in Miami, so clearly he has SOMETHING in him, but my concerns then are the same as they are today - his slender frame and subpar speed/burst just aren't a winning combination at the NFL level.

It's amazing how well this skills test translates to that particular position, but when it comes to pass rushers, the 40-yard dash is one of the best indicators of success. Like every position, there are anomalies that succeed despite a bad 40-time, but more times than not, 6-6 270 pound pass rushers running 4.92 are going to struggle at the next level.

If that combo exists in a player, then I personally need to see insane college production, as in at least a pair of 16+ sacks seasons against superior competition, along with a vast array of unique pass rush moves to POTENTIALLY offset the measurable attribute downgrade, otherwise, it's a no for me, especially if you're talking about a potential first round pick. Nothing stuck out for me with Charlton with his production and what I would call "sack quality," as hardly any of them were the result of anything special shown on the play - many were coverage sacks, beating wildly inferior tackles after a fight that went too long for my liking, etc.

Easy for me to say in hindsight, I know, but I thought he got way over-drafted, even at 28.

You're not alone. It was easy to see that he was going to be a bust. But just like QB, DEs get over drafted early in the hopes (definitely not based on film) that they become good players.

I think he's depth.
Wait. Now why is he depth and Justin Evan is a camp body? You're all over the place, Taker. šŸ˜ I would predict the opposite is more likely. Taco bombed as player, Evans was doing okay but derailed with injuries.

Both are hopeful reclamation projects (well, Taco never performed) and could turn into savvy moves. If both bomb, not much lost.

He's depth if he can survive cut day... After Taco Tuesday. Lol

I was thinking about all of our DE options and I honestly forgot the name of our 1st rounder last year. Not good

Well some lucky Who Dat finally got their wish. There was one poster on here that mentioned Taco Charlton in literally every post they made for two months straight. It was a give me Taco or give me death type of deal. They went all in on the guy. Who was that poster?

Was it Nofalcons? That's gonna bug me.

Speaking of :tacoes: check out Bette Midler's old taco joke. My Dad told me about it, but cannot be posted here. Not even with an NSFW warning. You can google it, though.

isn't tacoes is the last option on poles? will this be a problem?

Sorta like a guy who changes his name to "None-of-the-above" before running for office.

do you mean "if god didn't intend for man to eat ***** then why'd he make it look like a taco?"

I can't find much of any Bette Midler taco joke besides that.

I've been out of pocket this week up until now. Can't hurt as a look-see signing, just like the safety from Tampa we signed a coupla days ago.

And I figured the taco jokes would be pretty much out of control on here
