Saints-Steelers Hall of Fame Game - August 5th (2 Viewers)

You have got to be kidding. That NFL network thing is really starting to tick me off.

If next season is anything like the past, this game will be likely simulcast on a local network. Even during the regular season, if a Saints game is on ESPN it is simulcast on a channel like UPN.

One thing that ticks me off, too....when we lived in NJ we TRIED to get a dish, but we couldn't because of all the trees behind our house; trees we couldn't cut down. And since Time Warner is the predominant cable carrier up there, that leaves many people with NO option to see many of these games. So yes, it's not fair.

I have the same problem as you, can't get a dish where I live..no place to put it in my apartment..

wonder if Joey Porter will guarantee another Steelers win.

Anyone living up in this area and wants to go to the game, get your tix waaaay early. I remember a few years ago when the Saints and Colts [I think] played I tried to get tix a couple of weeks before thr game and they said get thea a year in advance.

+1 Put NFL network on basic cable or don't televise NFL games on it

why would the nfl do that. NFL games are property of the NFL, as is the NFL Network. So the people you should be angry with are the cable companies. they're the ones that won't pay the NFL the money that they want. Which considering the ratings they would get is a very fair price.

I thought the market teams got to watch the games that were being broadcast on NFL TV? Will this be applying next year too?

another way to get with the times...free cable. the miracle of a splitter. ;) btw, does nfl network come with direct tv and digital cable?
just wondering how anyone could be mad at the nfl network. they give us another chance to see 1 more game we wouldn't ordinarily see. no other channel is gonna show a saints pre-season game in my area.

ok guys how do we get tickets to the game since its a huge NFL event ?

Whos going I think we may have to make it the first road trip of the year!

Is the game played in Pittsburg??? It is only a pre season game. I forecast us playing vanilla stuff and ending 1-4.

Hey guys chill, it may be a home game that we don't need to pay for. I hate having to pay for practice games.

It's played in Canton, OH folks.

Hence it being the Hall of Fame game.

Me, I'm mad at Time Warner (as usual, it seems) because they refuse to carry the NFL Network which leaves us out in the cold in Houston. As Kellye said, we tried to get a dish in Jersey and our physical property wasn't compatable. Now, in Houston, the Dish is a lousy deal compared to digital cable (once I factor in comparable number of channels, having to pay an extra $5/month for every TV [a total soaking], and the local channel charge as well). Both are overpriced. IMHO, but people are paying for it, so I guess not. At any rate, digital cable is quite a bit cheaper, but TW ties our hands so we can't get all the nifty stuff on NFL Network. I'd love to have it, but it's not an option (I'm not forking out all the extra money for the dish when they're just porking on the "extra receiver" charges anyway). If they'd even offer as part of a "sports package,' I'd get it, but they won't even take it on in that capacity.
Supposedly, another company is taking over Houston soon, but whether they'll offer NFL Network, I have no idea.

People need to stop acting like NFL network is no more cost than cable. For one, you need to get multiple recievers with satelite. Those who live in apartment complexes like mine can't even get a dish because it's not allowed. I pay very little for my basic cable. I don't have much money to begin with. I promise you, in my area, dish is more expensive. My cable package also comes with internet, and while there are some dish packages with satelite internet, they are much more expensive, much slower when it comes to latency, and once again, Satelite is more expensive than cable in my area.
