Saints to interview Bills OC Joe Brady [on January 17th] (3 Viewers)

I like the offensive mindset. This continues to point to a willingness to develop Rattler. If they were worrried about still building around Carr they wouldn't be entertaining guys who will bring in a different system.
If Brady comes there is no way he would start Rattler. I don’t think any new coach would consider the possibility of starting Rattler. He needs time to develop and maybe one day he could start. I would expect an offensive coach would bring in a young developmental qb to groom behind Carr.

He showed us that less is more. The Bills offense improved from this year to last year by leaning extra heavy on the run and relying on Josh Allen's arm less. It's crazy that Bills fans always talked about how Lamar Jackson won MVPs and Josh Allen will probably win MVP giving them the type of season that they criticized LJ8 for...lol
Yes , let's hire a guy who's only success was with the best college offense and QB maybe ever an was not even the playcaller there for ONE YR. A guy who bombed when he didn't have elite talent. Then goes and takes over a offense with maybe the best if not one of the top 3 QBs in the league. A guy that Teddy Bridgewater said didn't even practice RZ during the week in Car.

Sorry I want a guy that takes less talent and has them overachieving. He's not ready IMHO. And I'm a LSU guy but I don't see everything through purple and gold glasses

I like it. Bring on Joe Brady and have Carr as the bridge QB and let Brady draft his guy, preferably in the first round.

In 2020 he produced a Carolina offense with four different players reaching over 1k yards from scrimmage with Teddy Bridgewater running the show. And the only player of that group doing anything meaningful in the league today is DJ Moore. The other three skill players? Robby Anderson, Curtis Samuel, and Mike Davis.

I think that qualifies for doing a lot with little talent. I’m also not an LSU fan, so it’s not a Homer opinion lol.

I'd say cut Carr (June 1st designation), sign a vet to compete with Rattler. Draft a QB in 2026 and you have cap room to build what you want.

I don’t know the cap ramifications, but I’ve heard that it’s more expensive to cut Carr because of the dead money. Does cutting him post 6/1 avoid that?

I don't even know if I want Johnson anymore. His demands and reports of his attitude are screaming insane amounts of arrogance. I suspect he may end up being extremely difficult to work and play for, and may end up tanking in a big way.
Let’s see, what do I want in a coach? Demanding: check, arrogant: check difficult: check, sounds like half of all Superbowl coaches. Nice guys finish last. Johnson’s scheme is one of the best offenses I’ve seen in a while.

If I had to guess (and it is just a guess), it would be Nuss or Allar. Both of those guys match the Burrow/Allen type of QB almost identically. Both guys also have to make at least decent progress this coming season to be worth a first round pick in the 2026 draft.

Saves 30 million of potential 50 million dead cap hit. If you keep him, you'd probably have to restructure another year and spread the money out over those two years. I'm ready to move on. I like Carr, but in my opinion, it's time to bite the bullet and move on.

This just feels like a repeat of last year when everybody was so hyped for Klint Kubiak. Then he gets here and we realize he can't do anything with a sorry offensive line and no QB. SF was able to lean on the run first and then kill you with the pass, same as Buffalo. We do not have those pieces in place here to allow us to do that. So what will be different if Joe Brady is hired?

He might not have a choice. We know Loomis is making a demand on the next HC to keep certain coaches. A lot of the guys he's interviewing specialize in QB development. Theres reason to suspect that Loomis may also put the stipulation on the next HC to put some focus on developing Rattler
