Saints Training Camp Updates, Day 15 - August 13th (1 Viewer)

Saints front office have planned poorly as his replacements Landon Young and Udoh haven’t been very good according to reports.
I think you're forgetting that we switched positions with him, so you're wrong. We technically drafted his replacement in Fuaga and moved him to RT.

Nick Underhill wrote in his practice report today that Udoh was not rotating in at various positions today. Instead, he spent the entire day as the 2nd team RT. That kind of sounds like they are getting ready to see if Udoh can win the starting RT job.

Yep. Sounds like we are getting our contingency plan into place and on deck.

It’ll be between Udoh and Davis.

How do you go 2/6 in the game but have perfect practices all the time?
It’s like that we forget how solid he was the last 9 weeks. From Weeks 10 to 18, Carr led the NFL with a 72.4% completion percentage.

Then we forget that you could make an argument that no QB in the NFL was as good as Carr the final month of the season. In the last five games, four of which we won, Carr threw for 1,117 yards with 14 touchdowns to two interceptions and posted a 118.9 passer rating. In that span, he completed 74.8% of his passes.

I’m not a fan of some of his play for sure, and I understand he at times played with his eyes looking to check down bc our OL was atrocious early. But this dude isn’t nearly as bad as this fanbase likes to say on a lot of platforms.

Tell me you don't know anything about preseason football without telling me you don't know anything about preseason football.

SMH dude.

Part humor. Part true.

Carr throws:
1. 2nd - 5. Incomplete to Taysom. Olave was open for the 1st down. Taysom was covered. Wrong read. Pass batted and should have been an INT. -
2. 3rd - 5. Complete to Olave but ball behind making for a contested catch. Good read, meh throw. /
3. 2nd - 7. Screen. Just busted one target play call. /
4. 3rd - 7. Olave doesn't run a great route, Patrick is pushed into Carr's lap, and Penning gets pancaked. Not sure Carr had much. /
5. 1st - 10. Olave gets separation and deep throw is off target and inside when it should be outside. Penning whiffs and Ruiz is late to help. -
6. 3rd - 12. Carr throws a 2yd RB out that can't pick up the 1st. Zero chance to move the sticks. -

I'm not sure there was a single rep that was a "plus" throw. Carr started slow last year. He is again in a new system. I hope he plays again in the preseason because his performance suggests he needs the reps to get into form.

Hate that he is the center of the teams problem. Seems like all training camp is about Penning. The teams should of address this before camp started. I don't know how mentally he can overcome this.
