Offense admittedly isn't my deal, in terms of the real technical detail, but isn't Olave a classic Z, rather than the X everyone seems to think has to be your "#1" WR?

And didn't we used to have plenty of success without the "true #1" people pine for regardless?

On top of that, there's a fair bit of analysis that says the Shanahan system we're adopting isn't reliant on finding those stud guys either.

I think just relax a little on this one. But I also know it's camp and we're all loving the opportunity to analyse any snap we see...

Olave still struggling at contested catches I see.

I was critical of that concerning him before last season. Last season he made some ridiculous contested catches several of them matter fact. Don’t think that really applies to Olave anymore as he did it several games last season.

The first pass is exactly what guys like MT lived off of.

Olave just struggles with contested catches because he's so slight in frame.

I think he's a Z, not an X. He excels at creating separation to make catches, while MT couldn't get much separation and had to body his way to catches.

We didn't complain about MT never getting much separation and mostly being fed by great accuracy from Drew, did we?

Different types of receiver, both can be great. No need to force the comparison IMO.

He was around 38% on contested catches last year. It’s still a trouble spot and an he can improve on
