Its a cool idea, but I seriously doubt it. I think theyre just throwing around scenarios, as usual.

I never really listen to this website, but one thing caught my eye. They said we will play Mike Jenkins in non safety roles and play 3 safetys at once. Anyone have any info on this ?

we did that in 2009 with Harper, Sharper and whoever else was the backup safety a few times and Harper lined up at LB.

We were already doing it in 2010 and 2011 (Harper, Jenkins and Sharper/Harper, Jenkins, and Isa Abdul Quddas).

It's all about getting your best 11 guys out on the field for the given situation. If that means your NB is really a Safety sometimes, or your Nickel LB is a Safety coming down, then so be it.

Jenkins, being a CB his rookie year (playing a lot of NB) helps give us that versatility.

I like the idea but I see Jenkins as a pro bowl player/star in the making, not some older player that is just used everywhere, because you don't know where to play him.

Jenkins is versatile. He is good enough to get matched up on TE's and even WR's in some cases, and can play deep centerfield and in the box. He still will get beat from time to time by freaks like Vernon Davis but he is better in man coverage than Harper. I'd like to see him get involved more than just playing mop up duty on the backend.

and he and porter worked well together on this play in his rookie year...

Who the hell is mike Jenkins? Didn know we ha a guy by that name on the Saints.

If its Malcolm Jenkins ur talking about. He's been used as a dime CB while we put in a back up Safety.

Jenkins has the ability to be the est FS in the game if He is used like an Ed reed tips FS. GE played him too deep in his formations and MJ was delegated to playing stop Big Recievers from catching 40 yard bombs instead of given the freedom to Rome and jump routes.

Is it possible that Jenkins could be our #1 CB after Greer?

Dude, you must have really fat fingers. :hihi: if I am reading you right, you think MJ has the capability to be an Ed Reed type player if given the freedom to roam the outfield a la Sharper?
