Saints training camp will be different in 2021.
No Drew Brees at the helm will create a quarterback competition between Taysom Hill and ????

Unless Houston or Seattle do something really stupid
Its certainly not improbable that Houston wouldn't do something completely mind-boggling stupid or idiotic or not possess the penchant for doing so as it relates to trading away a multiple All-Pro WR (and possible future HOF)Andre Hopkins to Arizona for a once-good, dominant RB and a 3rd-round draft pick. I suspect Texans FO and ownership won't make the same mistake in terms of entertaining trade offers for Watson and any possible deal has to be molded in such a way that guarantees Texans being the ultimate winners of this sweepstakes trade. Most GM's might scream bloody murder and argue Cal Mcnair is being unreasonable with such exocorbirantly high demands for trading Watson and perhaps Watson is himself, but my God that man has already shown he's easily a MVP caliber player equivalent to Mahomes and Jackson. If he stays healthy and plays at his current dominant level for the next decade, he'll either win or take his team to a couple of Super Bowls.

Texans having too large of an asking advice is just misplaced sense of bitterness and envy because those other teams' negotiators or GM's are upset at their bargaining options at the poker table and they can't offer great deals so readily to try and obtain a greater QB because they know the price they'd have to pay and the immediate, outlying risks would lead to a backlash among some in their fan base about why they mortgaged their franchise's long-term future for a guy who may not end up being the "final piece in the puzzle".

Just saw the short "Thank you Drew"clip on Facebook. So many great memories, all the records... It was a hell of a ride the last 15 years and I am glad that I was able to witness it, even if I'm from Austria. The fact that we were able to sign Drew back then was a unique opportunity and in retrospect we hit the jackpot. But the time is - unfortunately - over and now we have to look to the future. That said, I would do anything to get Watson. Even if it means to lose a lot of draft picks for the next few years and possibly losing key players. I think Watson would be just amazing in Payton's system. We hit the jackpot once with Drew and with Watson it could be a second time.

Man, I'm going to miss Drew Brees

Would it pose any cap or other problems if they put him back on the active roster for a single tribute game sometime during the year? Between league bylaws and the Players CBA it is probably not workable but maybe someone who knows the ins and outs could tell me if it is possible.

We were kinda cheated out of a "Final" game (we all assumed but it was still a question mark) Be fun to see him take a few snaps before the half and know it really is the last time. Then the Half could be devoted to a fan tribute followed by a street party/parade post game.

I was about to say, I don't remember any QB competition in 06....
But Winston will be an UFA, so if they don't resign him, and it just ends up being Taysom Hill, a rookie and someone like Tom Savage in camp, then there still won't be a QB competition this year either.
