NFL Saturday divisional round playoffs (10 Viewers)

This loss today highlights Dan Campbell's gaff last year against the 49ers. He might have blown Detroit's only chance at a Super Bowl. Smh.

I said last year, I would've fired him on the spot, people thought that was crazy and maybe it is. But that loss was like 28-3 with a stench that just might not come off as long a he's there. SO MANY THINGS have to go right in order for you to win a Chip, you don't need to be one of the things that go wrong for yourself.

Btw, Detroit is cursed.
I was too young to remember, but the Chargers fired their coach after a 14-2 season ending in the divisional round. Will time repeat itself somewhere else?

I blame Goff. He had three turnovers by himself.

I’m also happy thinking of St. Brown losing. He takes too many shots at our team for my liking.

I like to think that there's a bit more to the story. The article doesn't mention that either Smith or Schottenheimer didn't think enough of Drew Brees to keep him. They drafted Eli Manning in 2004 and immediately traded him for Phillip Rivers. Then they let Brees go after 2005. I would imagine that they would have started arguing about such collosal blunders. I don't know which of them was responsible.

Rivers was good but not so good to equal Drew Brees + the first overall pick in the draft.

A.J. Smith was great at drafting talent but I've read that he wasn't easy to work with.

Marty Schottenheimer was a good coach who was too conservative to win the big games.

I believe that was Marty Schottenheimer. The Chargers should have won that game. A DB intercepted Brady on a 4th down. All he had to do was go down, but he tried to run it back and fumbled, the Patriots recovered the fumble and do to a "change of possession" received a fresh set of downs, where they promptly went down for the game- winning score. It was such a Saints- like loss.

He was fired because it was another in a long line of playoff losses. He just couldn't get it done in the post- season.

They were the AFC version of the 1998 Vikings.
