Article Sean Payton gives Kellen Moore stamp of approval

I'm pretty curious if it follows a similar path to Payton. Moore's 1st year boost gets the team the division title they could have won last year, but then the age of the roster catches up to them for two years before a bigger breakout in year 4.
It’s not fair to compare Moore’s tenure to Payton’s tenure unless we find out he has a Drew Brees like QB in the building during his time. I’m personally just ready for a consistent offense. It was sickening these past few years outside of a handful of games.

meh.

You know who else got a stamp of approval from Payton?
I used to care about stuff like that. Like think about Brees. We hang on every word he says, and as a fanbase I don’t blame us. However once he gave DA the ole stamp of approval and said he’d be good for us and how it turned out really scarred me from ever putting too much stock into comments like that.

Drew Brees wasn't a "Drew Brees like QB" when Payton took over, he was a competent QB who showed a clear ability and went on a tear with CSP as they made a perfect union.

The key word is “tenure” not year one. Ellias said he was curious if Moore’s first four years would follow a similar path to Payton’s first four.

Did I compare or did I say I was interested if his tenure follows a similar trajectory?

I agree, SP without Drew Brees?

TBF, what do you expect him to say/do? He loves the city and Mrs. Benson. He's going to say nice and positive things because it's the right thing to do. Don't overcomplicate it.
This, you can still say nice things even though you don't work at a place. Payton for all intents works for the same company he just transferred.

If Moore is the right guy, in the long run the Saints benefit from Payton leaving he is in his mid 60s now. While Moore is still extremely young.
