Semper's Stupendous to Infinity and Beyond Everything Marvel Movie/TV Thread (1 Viewer)

Hopkins = Brando in Superman, Alec Guinness- grumpy old actor grumping
Heck Bryan Cox is doing it for one of the best TV shows of all time
Neither the Hemsworth nor Olsen lines come anywhere close to what the author is implying
Clickbait silliness

It’s not to say Marvel doesn’t have things to figure out
But I’d say every content/streamer - with the possible exception of Apple - is floundering post-Covid

And honestly the entire world is - we got smacked around by a global pandemic but pretend like it was a momentary inconvenience
We’ve got to do a better job of recognizing and then dealing with our trauma
Yeah, a lot of websites have really been spinning the Hemsworth and (especially) Olsen comments for clickbait and drama.

Wonder if they're cleaning up some of the stuff Sun has mentioned. Would imagine Deadpool doesn't have that same concern.

I don’t think there has been ‘one plan’ at Marvel (or SW)
Instead of the Avengers (or Skywalker) one central story route, they diversified stories a bit and are now adjusting to what they learned from those various ventures- I think (hope) the lesson learned is keep experimenting- don’t ‘just’ chase Avengers/Skywalker

The early days of Modern Dance were dominated (mostly) by two figures Martha Graham and Doris Humphrey
Martha’s was an iconoclast who was excellent at self-promotion and had a behind the scenes benefactor/mentor who helped tremendously
Doris was the one who had the actual insight for the mechanics of choreography and teaching
Most of the children of modern dance are children of Doris while Martha remains the figurehead
It is often thus

Kirby’s son is fighting an uphill battle while tilting at windmills- he comes off as petulant at best - make the jack Kirby movie and let content decide who was who and what was what
Otherwise *yawn*

I don't really know a lot about the various creator's and what not. I just happened upon that on my twitter feed so that more knowledgeable people could talk about it.

It's true that within comic book circles, particularly those in the scene for a long time know who he is and his contributions. I've always liked Mavel, and Stan Lee has been the face of the franchise for a long time now. Marvel wouldn't have ever been as big as it was without Kirby, but at the same time, they both brought something to the table.

Kirby has been RIP since 1994 and Stan Lee started making cameo appearances in Marvel films much later. I never had an issue with either of them. But that's me. I totally get where Neal (Jack Kirby's son) is coming from, but I think he doeth protest much because in reality, his dad has long had plenty of fans.

What he says is mostly already out there and has been for decades
My point was that his point was kinda pointless
Many, many better ways to do this and to champion dad’s legacy

Maybe he doesn't do social media, idk, but it looks like he asked his daughter to post it.

There was an AMC series a while back that I think was called The Secrets of Comic Books, or something like that, that was narrated by Robert Kirkman. One of the episodes was about Marvel, and it did talk about the rift between Kirby and Lee, and why.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooook
