Semper's Stupendous to Infinity and Beyond Everything Marvel Movie/TV Thread (2 Viewers)

Secret Wars is more than likely going to end the multiverse stuff and bring everything into a new prime universe that will be a mix of new and old. It will probably be a sort of reboot.

But that's a long, long ways off.

I've never been a huge fan of multiverse stories because I feel like they water down the stories and characters you've been following. They're fun in limited doses but when there's infinite variants of a character running around why am I supposed to care about the original over the others?
This + losing Chadwick + the content overdrive of COVID just seems like the most imperfect storm.

I still found almost everything pretty entertaining, just not as high quality.

If the Serpent Society is still in this movie, I'd guess maybe he is playing Bushmaster, but rumors are they were eliminated in the rewrites/reshoots.

And I know that technically Bushmaster was technically in the Luke Cage Netflix show but they've made it clear they're just going to take what they want from those shows to make MCU canon instead of just bringing everything in wholesale.

But who knows.

Y'all are probably laughing at my late-to-the-game posts, but I recently watched Guardians of the Galaxy (I) with the kids. I really liked it - the story and action were great, the cheap comedy was well done, and the music elements were really cool.

We are about halfway through the second one and it's fun, but definitely an inferior film - the comedy and sex jokes seem a bit more gratuitous to the point where it's a bit cringy watching with my 9 and 11 year old girls. The first one wasn't as gratuitously crass IMO.

But we're watching it and will likely watch number 3 next.

You should check out Iron Man
I’ve heard it’s good

Yeah, I think my kids went and watched that without me.
Really, a lot of MCU from Iron Man (well, even further back to Captain America, heh) forward until Endgame was very good. There were some occasional average movies, but for the most part, really top notch for the genre. I know it's a lot to watch, but I've really enjoyed the whole pulling stories together into a larger epic saga. My parents (in their 70s) even started getting into it, which kinda surprised me. I basically get them into it last December when we went to their place for Christmas and we watched Avengers together. They loved the Avengers movies and decided to start from the beginning and went through the entire series of movies and TV shows.

Sometimes they'd text me asking about a character or a place in the move they didn't understand and we've had some fun conversations about it.

As for the kids, there are some PG-13 level movies but I think a 10 year old would be fine to watch mostly.

GotG 1 is in my top 5 MCU movies, I can watch it over and over. Part 2 was kinda meh to me, but Part 3 is better than 2.

Iron Man 1 is up there along with Winter Soilder. Avengers and Infinity War round out my top 5.

Spiderman 1 and 3 are both also great. In fact I could argue Spiderman 3 could replace Avengers in top 5.
