Semper's Stupendous to Infinity and Beyond Everything Marvel Movie/TV Thread (8 Viewers)

The only show in phase 4 i have any interest in is Doctor Strange 2. Though the Eternals might be worth checking out.

I think WandaVision might be kind of cool since it leads into Dr Strange 2. Sounds to me like they might me doing a play on House of M, except we don't have mutants yet, so not sure how they are going to bring it to a climax. House of M did start Avengers vs X-Men and eventually lead to Secret Invasion (since there were less heroes around to detect the Skrulls), so it's a good time to do it and maybe something Wanda does will cause mutants to appear instead of disappear like the comics.

When you say WandVision I just keep thinking WonkaVision!

I am looking forward to several of them. Especially Loki.

I think us 40+ men need to realize that marvel and Star Wars are not going to be making shows for us
They’ll be plenty to enjoy, but it will not be catered to us
They already made the movies that I wanted. I've been collecting Captain America since 1978. His comics weren't popular but I loved them. I never thought that I would see what they did with him, and the Avengers. From here on out everything else is gravy. I'm happy that other people might get to see their favorites too.

This is the way I see it. There will be plenty more moments like that forced female empowerment scene in Endgame. Pretty sad, considering there is enough substance already there. And sometimes they do it right - like the opening gay scene in Endgame.

All in all, I see a lot of great movies and stories ahead, with a couple of forced agendas thrown in. But just like Endgame, it's not going to ruin the whole film or next phase altogether.

I'm actually ok with that. As long as they tell a good story that adds to the mythology of the Marvel heroes, I'm not too concerned about how they continue going forward. If they cater to a younger crowd, I'm ok with it.

There's going to be an uproar when Ms. Marvel is introduced.

I honestly think the Netflix characters, as we know them, are dead. Netflix cancelled the shows, and I think Marvel would use the characters, but it'll be on their terms. Probably starting fresh. If the timing works out, it would make too much sense to have Matt Murdock defend a Peter Parker on the run after Far From Home, for example, but as much as I loved him, Netflix's Wilson Fisk would NOT fit into that world.

I'll be there for all the movies, but the TV stuff is what I'm most interested in. I think they're going to be the right length (6 episodes) to allow Feige and crew to tell some stories in a bit longer format, while avoiding being so long that they're full of filler ala the Netflix shows. Wandavision looks like it's going to be really bizarre, but I want to see how it resets and opens up the world heading into Doctor Strange 2. Cap & Winter Soldier, I just love the characters and want to see where they go. And Loki may lay some seeds for time-based villains. In the 5 seconds he was in the Super Bowl teaser, his uniform belonged to the Time Variance Authority, which is known for dealing with guys like Kang the Conqueror. We'll see, I suppose. Depends on how big Marvel wants to go with TV.
