I say yes for three reasons.

1. We aren't drafting a QB high this year and there really isn't one worthy either.

2. We know who Carr is and about how long he has left in the league. He is terrible under pressure and either gets crushed because of his lack of mobility or he takes off playing hero ball and gets himself hurt. By the time this team patches the holes he needs to be successful, he'll be too old to take advantage of it.

3. If there is any hope that Rattler will ever be good enough he needs to play more. Only so much development comes from practice.

hell yea, I love mutli vote yes/no polls. Yes/No for me but really yes...

We really don't know yet that Derek Carr can't be our QB for the next 4 years still. He's not a broken failed project. It's just a lot of whats around him has fallen apart, getting rebuilt etc.
I think we do know. He's been in the league for a decade. He's has never been a guy who could elevate the guys around him and this team doesn't have the talent to carry him enough for him to be successful. And he certainly isn't worth what we're paying him for that.

sorry, our wr group was a joke this year and olave and shaheed didn't even combine for a full season on the field. carr has been banged up here and there. we aren't getting a full carr look with legitimacy on the field.

Great response 👍🏽 👏🏽

Now hopefully our next Head Coach is in agreement 🤝

My concern with Rattler is what is hapenning to him in the second half of games. That first half against the Bucs was awesome. Then he fizzled in the second half. Figure that part out and I am all in.

I might be tripping here....but how many games did we win with Rattler again?
Some fans think starting him would give us the inside track on the #1 pick in the ‘26 draft. They are probably right. He’s had less of an impact than Tommy Devito so far.

Once again, he's been in the league for a decade. There isn't anything that Carr is going to do over the next 4 years that he hasn't done in the last 10. There isn't a sudden epiphany that Carr is going to have at 35 years old and at this point in his career.

And I don't say that thinking that he's a terrible QB. He's not. He's just very limited and his limitations aren't a great pair with the other players that we currently have.

Todd Bowles took his first read away via making 2nd half adjustments and he fell apart. He's not ready for read, read, read, read, throw, not yet.

Starting Rattler gives us the best chance to have the first pick in next years draft. But it could also mean one and done for a new head coach, so it would be hard to imagine a new coach hitching his career to Rattler.

I was going to make a thread but I guess I ask this question here. Any theory as to why Rattler plays like Jekyll and Hyde? He gives us moments of potential. Then he starts to plays like we need to draft a QB in round one.

Carr has had 10 win season, 12 win seasons, and gone to the playoffs.

I'll take that.
