Question Should The Saints Put A Waiver Wire Claim In For CB Akayleb Evans? (70 Viewers)

CB Akayleb Evans was cut Friday by the Vikings. They drafted him in the 4th round in the 2022 draft. He has played in 32 of a possible 42 games with 17 starts. He played 85% of the ST snaps in 2023. However, he hasn't seen the field hardly in 2024. He's a tall CB at 6' 2". A team claiming him off of waivers would be getting him on a rookie contract for the remainder of this year and all of next year. He may bring value to a team in need of CB depth such as the Saints.

That report was done before the 2022 draft. How has he progressed since then? I'd bet that if you looked at his strengths they would pretty much contradict almost everything in his weaknesses. I would sign him to the PS and see if he can work his way up.

I don't know if he can be signed to the PS or he has to be signed to the active roster. But if he has to be signed to roster just exactly who are going to waive or release? We need everyone we have now.
