Apparently, Pakistani intelligence (ISI) has maintained contact with Mullah Omar (remember him?), and Omar is supposedly willing to talk with the the USA. Obviously, we will not withdraw troops FIRST (considered to be a softer demand by the Taliban). Have we reached that point of stalemate in which negotiations are the only way out? Our military just started an offensive, so we have yet to see in which direction that will take us. Plus, many remember how untrustworthy the Pakistani Taliban were in negotiations with the Pakistani government. What do you guys think?
