NFL Draft Should we draft Jack Bech? (3 Viewers)

Recruited as and played WR at LSU. He was a 3* WR recruit with his 247sports composite as 4*. Transfered as a TE or at least that is what is listed on his transfer grade, but only played WR at TCU. All of his stats are scored as a WR on Sports Reference.

I think he was listed as a TE at LSU for at least one season, but maybe I'm recalling wrong. Though my recollection is that even when he was a TE he usually split out so while I think he was listed as a TE, I don't think he every really played the TE position.

Yes, I remember that as well. It was a weird position listing for him. The team also had Boutte, Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. at WR.

I remember thinking he was the next star WR for LSU and was surprised when he transferred. Felt like that was longer ago than it was. But to the OP, yeah I'd love to take him. Read a player comp for him being Pucau. Thats high praise even of player comps arent very reliable and rarely accurate.

Anyone think he'll last til day 3?

The Pucua comp is a good one. I think Puca is 6'2" 215lbs and can do it all with physicality like Bech.

I don't think he'll last to Day 3. Not after this week/today.

We have two 3rds and two 4ths, right around where he's probably projected atm. It's early and he definitely made a good impression in the senior bowl but he looks like a solid pick at a position of need.

He is, but he's also a good player. Yes, people know him because he's from Louisiana, but it's not like he isn't a legitimate NFL prospect. He was MVP of the Senior Bowl and had around 4th round projection before that. He could move up based on the MVP and how he runs at the combine.
Howie Long once said football players come from places like Meridian Ms. You not gonna find them in

Have to agree.
It literally means absolutely nothing at the professional level.
I disagree, if he’s talented as all getout, fills a need, then you add in the intangible of playing for the home team that no other team can get that intangible benefit out of him that could get that little extra something out of him. Even pro FB is an emotional game with momentum swings, a little intangible can go a long way.

I don't know if Bech fills the need for a big X-WR that we desperately need.
He didn't look like he had that extra gear on his top end speed...
It would depend on how far up in the draft he moves after the Senior Bowl.

This is a guy we should look at in the mid to later rounds if we aren't going to have Olave around long term.
He showed in the Shrine game that he can play...

I’ve been keeping an eye on Bech all season. Originally, he was expected to go somewhere between the 4th-6th round. That always seemed off to me and now he’s running up draft boards and may not make it past the second round.

Here's a list of every Senior Bowl MVP by year---some big names in there...but also a lot of big nobodies. Guess which team has drafted the last 2?
