NFL Draft Should we draft Jack Bech? (1 Viewer)

I don't know if Bech fills the need for a big X-WR that we desperately need.
He didn't look like he had that extra gear on his top end speed...
It would depend on how far up in the draft he moves after the Senior Bowl.

This is a guy we should look at in the mid to later rounds if we aren't going to have Olave around long term.
He showed in the Shrine game that he can play...

Efton Chism III, WR, Eastern Washington

We don't need another WR with top end, blow the top off the defense speed. You would certainly like a big X that has that kind of speed, but it's not a necessity when we already have two guys that can do that in Olave and Shaheed and we might keep MVS or Pettis. What we do need is a big guy that can go over the middle and make contested catches because we really don't have that.

I'm not saying "blow the top off the defense speed" ( aka Randy Moss speed) but you do need enough speed to get separation...
I didn't see a lot of that yesterday. That is one of the reasons it was apparent he is very good at making contested catches.

He played with so much emotion yesterday that it wasn't a normal game for him.
It made it a little harder to rate him on a NFL level.

He seems like a terrific, hard working young man, I hope he runs a 4.5 forty at the combine.

Many sources, including Mike Detillier, have reported Jack Bech was very impressive during Senior Bowl practices. Regardless of what he does in the Senior Bowl, I think he is the type of receiver the Saints need and should draft him. He is home grown and talented. Your thoughts, please.
I’d say yes in mid rounds. He’s a big physical receiver that doesn’t have blazing speed but can work the intermediate range and make contested catches. We have fast guys he fits part of what we missing.

He has plenty of tape. People don't need to go off the Senior Bowl, he's put it on tape all year.

I like Bech but I like others more than him and I hope we address the big contested catch X WR before where he will probably go

He played at TCU enough said. I cant think of any WR from TCU that has amounted to much. Drafting him would be a wasted pick

He's from a long line of very impressive athletes.

His uncle, Bret, played for the Saints after being drafted by the Jags I believe. He held all sorts of LSU records back in the day. His brother who was killed in the terror attacks was a WR and KR at Princeton. Dad played HS, aunt was a freak of all sorts and I believe played HS QB at Slidell and then volleyball.

Grandfather and Grandmother I believe also played sports thru college.

As a freshman he was LSU's best WR and not sure, but dropped out of favor his Sophomore year and transferred.

Exactly the type of receiver we need. Dependable hands, willing blocker. Hopefully we get a chance to draft him.

I'm certainly ok with drafting 2 receivers with Bech being one if the draft falls right for it.

He kinda reminds me a WR version of Hokie Gajan. I was very meh when we drafted him, but he turned out to be "does the dirty work" type of player that a lot of teams want on their roster. A fan favorite for all the right reasons.
