NFL Saints Football is played on Sunday's in the Fall. Sometimes they play on Monday's, Saturday's and even Thurday's check them out sometime.
 
7.5 yards per reception is not a very good average.

You guys seem to be putting a lot of stock into his "dynamic playmaking", which I have agreed he shows flashes of, but if that's what his reputation is entirely built on, should we not expect larger gains, or at the very least an average YPC/YPR that measures up to the league average?

I don't see what's so difficult to get here.

Because YPC is an average of how many YARDS someone gets PER CARRY.

So "on average", if you give him 3 carries, he will get 10.5 yards, and a 1st. Not sure how youre saying this is incorrect? This is an AVERAGE, not a predictor of how many 1st downs he statistically has.

obviously bush does not gain 3.7 yards on every rush. therefore the premise of bush getting a 1st down every 3 carries is flawed, simply because it took him on avg 5.3 carries to gain a first down in 2008.

I'm not saying he sucks.

The fact that some of you believe that those who criticize these areas of his game believe he sucks are misinformed at best.

No. The issue is rarely the criticism. It's the heavy-handed repetitive "critical" posting in each thread that gets tiresome.

(Just in case there's some misinterpretation, I italicized "critical" to indicate it was tongue-in-cheek.)
 
I don't read the boards too often, and this is the first time I've discusses Bush's YPC in detail, but I could understand that it would become wearisome if seen repetitively on a daily basis.

Certainly not my intention.
 
Well there's a place and time for most discussions but you can tell by some of the responses that threads which are specifically aimed at pumping up the fan base are sorta expected to remain positive. At least that's what I usually hope for.
 
I guarantee you that this offense wouldn't even sniff # 1 status without Reggie and that is fact.

no one is saying he gets it on every rush. he AVERAGES it on every rush.

how can you guarantee something like that? I fail to see where there was any huge dropoff on offense when bush got hurt in 07 or 08. thi offense isnt built around bush, it is built around brees. thats why guys like stecker and thomas have been able to step in and put up great numbers when bush went down.

regardless of what he avg per rush, he doesnt avg a first down every 3 carries. he avg a first down every 5.3 carries. that is what you failed to understand.
