We were walking out the door, and the wife answers the phone and it's directtv. Our 2 year commitment is up in February - thats the only thing I can think of that explains this..

the wife is like "yeah... yeah.... ok, we'll do it." Im thinking ***? They gave us HBO, STARZ, Showtime AND SUNDAY TICKET for $2 per month, for the next six months.

Im thinking there's something screwed up, I check the bill and sure enough under recent orders it says "NFL SUNDAY TICKET PROMO.................. $0"

I still wish the Saints would have won, but this wasnt a bad consolation prize. I have no idea how to tell you all how to get it or what the promo is.

Did you buy a lottery ticket after you left the house?! :hihi:

I solved that problem. I put that chicken [Mod Edit :nono: - veiled profanity] company on my blocked number list.

i got the same thing....two weeks ago and i have another year left on my contract.

we discussed in another thread about why.

do you have good credit?
pay your bill on time?
is your wife or girlfriend hot?

if you answered yes to any of these question then your doing pretty good so don't question the football gods. :hihi:

I moved recently and they offered me something similar.

I just went to directv.com and on the front page it says:

8 days left on offer: 5 months free of our best television package with NFL Sunday ticket and 24 month agreement, includes HBO, Starz, Showtime, Cinemax, Sportspack, Free HD for life, Free HDDVR.

So yea, seems like a pretty big offer they've got going, not just for you.

Yes to all of the above.

The wife asked them if we had to re-up for another 2 years, and the rep said no.... So I dunno. Even with another 2 years this is a good deal.

Hmmmm wonder if they'll give me that deal if I call them ? My contract has been up for over a year. I didnt even see the offer on the website as it logs me in when I go to it, had to sign out before I even saw the deal.

Yeah, that'll work. Call.

Just say "Dish has some pretty good deals, and I'm thinking about cancelling. What are you going to give me for free to keep me as a customer?"

This is not sarcasm. They'll throw all kind of crap at you to keep you on.

That said, I'm with Dish and won't ever go back to those scum-sucking morons at Direct. I hate their customer service. Want some free stuff and get treated like trash? Direct's the way to go.

And you will never have suday ticket either.

I took a lot of hard work to get out from under my contract without paying...I'll never do directv again.

Personally I don't watch a whole lot of TV and when I do it is sports, history, discovery and the occasional showing of The League, It's Always Sunny in Philly or Family Guy. I had Sunday Ticket and I only used it for the first 3 weeks of the season and then I didn't care anymore. I wish I had enough time in the day to watch every football game but I can't seem to do that like I use to when I was younger. I blame studying for the stupid CPA exam getting in the way of football.
