So what do we do? Anything can happen as we saw with the Vikings and Eagles game. We have an inside chance for the division and HFA, but our fate rests in the hands of the terrible Carolina Panthers. Should be take a risk on something that barely has a chance of happening?

Of course you play your starters. And if the Falcons get up by 3 touchdowns then you take your guys out.

You have to play the starters as long as you have a chance at that #1 seed

It's not even a question about it. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read the thread title and asked myself... "Seriously?"

You have to give yourself every opportunity to get HFA. Playing backups is like settling for second place.

**edit**

Or in this case... 5th.

You wouldn't be saying seriously if god forbid we get a major injury and the Panthers lose by 3 TDs. You must not have watched any Panthers games this year. I'd rather go healthy in the playoffs on all cylinders than have go into the postseason with our lifeblood injured.

i understand the angst about injuries w/ the postseason coming and the long shot of getting the # 1 seed. that said... i CAN'T imagine Drew and PT and Bush and Vilma and Sharper and the whole cast not being in in this game. Somebody please cue up Jim Carrey in "Dumb & Dumber" saying "so you're saying there's a chance".

however if the CAR/ATL game is getting out of hand and word gets to the sidelines about that... i wouldn't be surprised to start seeing Chase Daniel... Julius Jones and the like start coming into the game

Of course we should play them. Especially since most of these games are goin' to be played at the same times.

Let be realistic, the Falcons should beat the Panthers easy, but we were suppose to beat the Browns and the Cardinals with rookie QB's easy...

I mean this is the NFL, anything is possible.

I know they say "There are no stupid questions" but you always need that exception that proves the rule. Congrats.

I remember, many years ago, when we were the team no one worried about. When the lousy Saints weren't going to beat any top contender team. And inevatibly one of our wins would be one we were suppose to lose. So while I know it's a long shot that crosseyed optimist is still there, just hoping for the Kitties this time!

I was 100% behind resting the starters last year, but the risk this year is completely justifiable. Can you imagine if we didn't play to win this game and Carolina upset the Falcons? Our decision would go down as one of the biggest blunders in sports' history.

Seriously, that is the type of thing that could ruin a franchise. We could just start trading off our players for future draft picks because this "team" would be done.

This would also give the Bears the 1st seed and HFA if they were to also defeat the Packers.

Play the starters and keep an eye out on the Atl game. If the panthers get down by 3 TDs and there looks like no way the failclowns are going to lose, then pull the starters.

But as long as there's a chance Car is going to get the win, let Drew keep tossing TDs.
