So is Mark Ingram's # going to be 21... (2 Viewers)

Porter's #22 is pretty much immortal in Saints history. I know #22 was Ingram's in college, but when people think of #22 on the Saints they will forever think of the Superbowl sealing pick 6...

I like Ingram and all, but he's gonna have to make an insane offer to get that number from Porter.

I totally agree. In one play porter defined that number for me. I know what porter is skill wise, probably a bit above average but not a superstar but who cares. He kept sb44 from going into ot.

I could care less what his number will be to be honest. Just bloody play football.

bornnraisedwhodat, posted this in the Softball thread. As good an instance of proof as any. Looks like Ingram is showing some respect to our old friend Dalton Hilliard. Good on him.

If he can't get #22, then select a number not taken and make that number "Famous"!

I'm all for this. Just like that guy who wore #26 and made it his. I say don't even try to get Porter's number. Just pick one and go with it. I know it's important to them, but it's what you do on the field.

I doubt 21 is his official number - I dont think they can get "official" numbers til the lockout ends.

However, if nobody is currently 21 (bye bye julius jones) once the lockout is lifted, I dont see why Ingram wouldnt get dibs on it.

I really don't think that number is that big of a deal...........

Damn it! New Orleans cuisine has wrecked his body!

But nah, since he actually doesn't know what number he's gonna wear, he wore ALL available numbers to some event. lol
