So is Mark Ingram's # going to be 21... (1 Viewer)

At the end of the day... it all depends on whether Ingram offers TP enough money to make the swap. Money talks.

seriously? not going to happen. only kickers/special teamers do that. I'd challenge you to find one time in the history of the NFL, a proven veteran has gave his number up to any rookie.

You never know. Look at the NBA. Would anyone have guessed Kobe would change his number half way through his career? How about LeBron? Randy Moss has gone from 18 to 84 to 18 to 81 back to 84 again. Tracy Porter wore number 9 at Indiana so it's not like he has a super long history with the number 22. Money talks. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Porter gives it up.

those things happen when numbers aren't available, like when Jabari got here, 33 wasn't avail so he took 32, only to take 33 as soon as it was avail. TP has no reason to change his number, as long as he's a saint., if we lose him to FA (lord we hope not), then i can see MI taking his number, until then, he'll be rocking 21 or 26

INGRAM should be 21. Go head bro make history with #21.

The point of my NBA analogy was that two superstars, who both had a long history with their numbers, decided to make the change on their own. Kobe chose to change from 8 to 24 without switching teams. LeBron chose to change from 23 to 6 when he signed with Miami. It's not like the number 23 wasn't readily available for him to take. Sometimes these players aren't as attached to "their" numbers as we think they are. I still think it comes down to a money issue. If Ingram offers enough money to Porter, then a deal will probably get made.

HOW ABOUT 32?

#32 because that's where the 1st round pick we gave up to get him is going to be.
