They did this with Season 1 of Discovery when they tried to reinvent Klingons.

This already did this in TNG when they reinvented the Klingons. The Klingons should not be an issue. We already know that some Klingons look human while other Klingons have a Tortoise shell on their face and a terrible wig. Orc Klingons actually looked badassed to me. They appear like a whole different race of beings, not human like. They didn't just look like another Human race with either antenna and blue skin, or green skin, or brown skin(original Klingons), or Pointy Ears, or a tortoise shell and terrible wigs. They were a unique looking race like Saru or Neelix.


Edit... let me redo the first line... They already did this in TOS, The Motion Picture, TNG, Star Trek VI, Into Darkness, etc.
