Super Bowl tickets for season ticket holders? (1 Viewer)

Exactly what I would’ve done if my number came up. The resell ticket prices are astronomical.

Exactly. Anyone who can afford to buy SB tickets that gets offered to buy them at face value would be a fool to pass on them.

I have this odd hobby of studying super bowl ticket prices. Don't know why, but I started doing after we went to the Saints one. (It used to be the best day to buy tickets was the Tuesday before the game, which was when the NFL players got their tickets, but they've changed things). Over time, the NFL has significantly increased face value on Super Bowl tickets making it harder to profit on them.

Point of reference, the Saints Miami tickets were $800 face in the upper deck, and I paid a little over 1100 per ticket.

The earlier poster mentioned $4500/ticket face, which is likely location dependent. The "get in the door" price on Stubhub is $4222 (plus probably 2k or more in fees to stubhub that the seller doesn't get any piece of.

I've noticed that New Orleans is one of the cheaper Super Bowl ticket locations, which my theory is that it's a little harder and more expensive to get to, because MSY is the only airport. For example, we flew in to Orlando for the Saints SB. You can fly like 8 different places in SoCal, etc. Also, other places just have a lot more flights. You wouldn't think that would influence ticket pricing, especially at these prices, but it seems to.

Sorry for the diatribe, but this topic is interesting to me.

Uhhh... they wanted $2,500 so you could get the opportunity to buy tickets. That's what I remember from that email I quickly deleted.
2500 for opportunity to buy, then you still have to buy let’s say 1500. Could you have made a profit is the question.

Would someone buy a ticket for 5k?

Me and my cousin got the call yesterday.
Together both tickets were 7k, but we’re selling em for about 10-11.5 k each.
Exactly what I was wondering. Sometimes people can be short sighted and only see the current. $2500 wasn’t a bad ask at all

Bingo. This isn’t a lottery just because the team wants to merely give fans the opportunity to go. It’s a lottery because it is an extremely valuable asset they’re effectively giving away, even when talking about something you’re paying thousands for.

MSY not the only airport . Lakefront airport will be utilized too

I was selected. $4500+ endzone behind goalpost also.

Made less than $1000 on the two, for a $9300 gamble. Never do that again. Hard PASS.

Ticketmaster is basically piracy. They make ridiculous profit on these exchanges on our dime.

Called TM this morning to find out why money isn't deposited after 6 days:

"We don't send money until after the event takes place."

I'll will never take place in their scam again. Buyer be very aware.

I got picked in 2010 - two tickets @$800 each.

Got them and went to the game.

My brother got picked this year, two tickets @$2,500/each. he's buying and listing for sell.
I was selected in 1996. 2 tickets @ 250.00 each

Word on the street is that it’s Chiefs fatigue that’s brought the margin value way down.

I went back and checked my junk email. I never got one about paying for an option to have tickets up front, but they did do a random drawing for season ticket holders that were notified I think last Friday (or Friday b4 that) if they'd gotten the chance to purchase tickets
