Next phase of renovations has started.

R.I.P. Dome pedestrian ramps.
Giant 200-foot cranes are now in place on the Poydras Street side of the Superdome as Phase 3 of a $450 million off-season renovation project gets underway. Main entrances are being converted into giant atriums with escalators to speed fans to their seats.

“You’ll have club seats on the sidelines. You’ll have new spaces, better food service, amenities and faster travel in the stadium,” said ASM Global/LSED Media Relations Director Mike Hoss.

That faster travel will be made possible by massive new escalators in two atriums now being built along Poydras Street in the corners of the dome that will send fans from the second floor straight to the fifth.

Phase 3 of the renovation project will also see the relocation of the team store to a location on Poydras Street near the ground-level ticket window. It will also include wider concourses, made possible by the removal of 80,000 square feet of pedestrian ramps.

Has anyone seen any animations of what the 2025 version will look like?

Looks great! Got to keep up with the times.

The Phoenix Suns renovated everything on the inside..I went to a game last year and it looked spectacular!

I've only been to New Orleans twice and loved every minute of it. I have yet to see the new scoreboards in person but I was thinking of going this coming season.

Man to think how much that building has transformed over the years. I remember going to the game when Ray Guy hit the gondola on the roof and sitting in the cheap seats where the gondola was straight in my line of site. That was also when you could be outside the dome at 11:30 buy tickets for $20 for 2 seats. God I’m old.:tears:

The only think I wish they did not adjust were the corner scoreboards. I kind of thought it was iconic. I remember when those boards were orange. Now it is some sort of zig zag scoreboard. Guess I’ll just have to get use to it.

I know this is blasphemous, but more stadiums need to do what ATL did with the bottom seats having access to the field (right behind the player benches) this was one of the coolest experiences ever last year against Atlanta. You could go up to your seat at anytime but the field area was filled with tables and a drink bench at the railing. Standing on turf for the game and watching the players come off the field and get with their position coaches was really neat to experience.

Yelling at Matt Ryan and telling him to throw us another one was a unique experience too haha.

Also, you enter near the player tunnels to the locker rooms so I got to hang out and say who dat to the guys as they were coming in from warmups.
