Okay. I talked with Kellye today. We figure $20 a head for hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and beer. We wanted to keep it simple since it is an out of town tailgate. I'm shipping two King Cakes from Haydel's to myself in Houston for the tailgate.

We can paypal Kellye (primadox) the money. She agreed to pick up all this stuff for us.

For those that live in Houston, we definitely need:

1. Ice chests with ice so we can ice down the drinks, etc. Kellye needs help getting all this stuff to the game.

For those in Houston and everywhere else:

1. We need a grill.

2. We need a decent stereo system to listen to music. It would be great if we could get one where it would play the mp3s I have on a thumb drive. I can transfer them to one of my mp3 players but I'd rather just leave it on the thumb drive.

Where we are meeting for the tailgate:

Blue parking lot. It is the only one where I could get two parking passes which is what is required for SaintMike's bus. So look for his bus that that is where we will be.

Here's the info. My paypal address is primadox@yahoo.com. Jay and I thought that any money left over would be donated to sr.com in memory of cajuncook...okay with everyone?

I'll pick up the stuff we need (what female doesn't like shopping :hihi: ), but I will definitely need help figuring how much/what to buy, and help getting it there on Sunday (especially since I have to wait for a sitter on Sunday morning). Jay/SaintMike, any chance of storing stuff iced down in coolers in the bus overnight on Saturday? I could bring a bunch of stuff down when we go to Woodrow's that day.

Again, I'm a rank novice at this, so you tailgate pros please help me out (yes, I'm shamelessly begging, LOL...)

Here's an important question: What time is all of this going to start on Sunday?????

Sunday? Why so late? :hihi:

EDIT: Seriously, Jay has been saying he expects to get the bus there at 8 AM, so I would say anytime after that people can arrive and join the party (anyone feel free to correct me)! Our crew will be as early as we can, though we may have to come in waves as at least one of us will probably won't be able to arrive until around 9:30-10:00.

I'll be e-mailing the money Tuesday night for 10. One or two more might show up but I'am not sure. Putting the ice chest on the bus the night before is fine with me. I'll have 3 ice chest with me. Two normal sized ones and one huge one. I have Jay's cell phone number and I'll call him once I'am in Houston Saturday afternoon. I'am up for meeting at Woodrow's too but I have no idea where it is. As far as what to buy, I have no idea how many people are going to be there. I guess once all the money comes in, then you'll know how much stuff to buy. I drink anything but Budwiser. Miller Lite is what I usually drink though. For food; burgers, cheeze, hot dogs and sausage. Buns, ketchup, mustard and mayo. Don't forget paper plates and napkins. A couple of cans of pork n beans. I will bring a small pot to warm them up on the grill. We will need plastic spoons too. For the chips, just buy the assortment packs. Anyone else care to add to the wish list, feel free. I still think Jay is looking for a bar-b-q grill, if we don't get someone to bring one, all the food will be raw. I would bring mine, but I don't have room on the bus for it. My bus has a nice Stereo system and I'll have all the Saints music. Bring whatever other type of music you want to play. I'll have the converter to play from Ipods.

Tailgating

Wow....this thread took off! I couldn't find the first post about Tailgating.

Anyway, I'll be there IF I get my hands on a ticket. I have a call in right now that I hope comes through. If I get it....count me in.....if not guess I'll be lonely at WOODROWS.

Later,
Daryl

:worthy:

I'll probably do the bulk of the shopping on Friday afternoon or evening, so I'd like a good head count by Friday at noon...how is that, everyone? Then someone can help me figure out how much of each I need to get. A few of my fellow Hou-Dats are already offering to pick up stuff as well....:worthy: :worthy: SaintMike, Woodrow's is easy to find, but I'll meet you wherever you're staying if that is easier...it would just make my life better if I knew that a good bit of the stuff was there Saturday night, since Sunday morning is going to be a guaranteed zoo around here (8+ people staying here at last count, not counting me and Drew and our kids, plus a babysitter arriving at some point to watch the 5 little people who are not coming to the game).

I'll be shopping at my local Sams for most of the food items, but there is also a Sams near Reliant, on the south side of 610, in case we need any last minute items. Plus, IIRC, you cannot buy retail liquor on a Sunday here in Houston (or at least before noon), so no last minute beer purchases! Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong, but I know my friend from Tyler who lives in a dry county always stocks up on Saturdays when she comes to visit since Spec's was closed on Sunday when she waited once to do her buying.

I'll pm you my phone number as well, SaintMike. Thanks for helping to make this happen!

I work at one of the Randall's in town, you are correct about the beer and liquor. The liquor stores are closed on Sundays and you can't buy beer until NOON on Sundays.

We'll be at the game on Sunday, just not sure if we are going to tailgate. If we do, I'll look for you guys cause we got passes in the Blue Lot

My wife and I are in for 2 adults. I have a blue pass and will try to get the wife out of the house by 8 to shoulder up next to you guys.

I don't have a grill but I do have a double propane burner -- do you guys want me to bring that? Also, do you need more ice chests? Please just let me know.

We need more ice chests for certain. We need a grill badly. Can anyone bring a grill?

I'm getting payments...thanks! I'll compile a list of who has paid, who has signed up, etc., and post it here. From there the tailgate pros can help me figure how much of everything to get...:) We have Scouts tonight with the kids, but later on I'll get that list posted.

Just sent Primadox some dough. See y'all on Sunday!!!!!

Important Paypal Info

I have a mere personal account with PayPal because I don't feel like paying a fee on everything just to accept credit/debit cards. :D I am able to accept up to 5 cc/dc payments, however, but the fee is higher. Plus, I'm limited to receiving only $500. per month on the personal account, which we will likely go over with this tailgate. So here's the deal: If you must pay by credit card or debit card vs. existing paypal funds or checking account transfer, then you need to use this paypal address: paresumes@sbcglobal.net. This is my business paypal account; it is a Premier account so I can accept credit/debit cards for a much lower fee, and it will split the money between the two accounts so that I don't have to worry about limits. Any questions, email me. A few of you have paid already by credit or debit card, and I will deny the payment and you can just pay again to my business account. I'll email or pm you with the details.

*edit* Just to clarify, paying to the personal account vs. the business account is preferred...but use the business PayPal address if you must pay by credit or debit card. Otherwise use the primadox@yahoo.com account; that one is strongly preferred since there's fewer hoops to jump through to get to the funds...:)

I do have a bunch of ice chests. They range from holding a 12 pack to being able to keep SkyMike on ice. :)

I'm not parking in the blue lot, I'm in yellow, so if I can arrange to get them to someone on Friday or Saturday, then get them back next week, that would be a good thing.

That's going to be the tricky part with Reliant's nazi parking rules; getting the ice chests there and meeting up after the game to get them back. Perhaps they relax the rules a bit after the game, so someone can drive from one color lot to another in order to pick up stuff?? Perhaps just buying some throwaway styrofoam coolers might be better...?
