Tankathon: Saints top 6 draft pick watch (51 Viewers)

He’s my guy if Jeanty and Tmac are gone when we pick…. If we trade down a few spots and take him…. Even better.

I thought Bowers was worth trading up for…. He was. He’s the best TE in football as a rookie. Not shocked.

Warren is a different type of player. But can be just as impactful because of his creativity, versatility, size and athleticism.
Yeah at first, I pondered the idea of a trade down and getting him. Although, teams seeing what Bowers has done, Warren may shoot higher than 20th, which I think is his current draft projection. Not as polished as Bowers (not many TEs in history can say that, if any), but the dude is a dang football player, who put in the work, and got better every year.

I think he goes before 20, and hope we somehow get him if we can’t get Jeanty or Tmac.

I have those three guys as the best offensive skill players in this draft. I want one of them. My preference would be Tmac, Jeanty, and Warren. In that order.

Agree with all your thoughts.

We’ve played for many seasons without a threat at tightend and it’s a serious problem. Look around the league almost every good team has a tightend threat, and the teams that try to play without a tightend are the sewer dwellers. We need help at tightend and oline, now. Backup qb is also a need.
And the teams that are good and have a TE threat have a very good to great WR corps, we don't. Our best WR would be at best a #2 on a good team and he may be a concussion away from ending his career

If you haven't yet, watch Nick Emmanwori video from South Carolina. Game changer

I draft that guy a lot in my mocks. Watching our defense get bullied and not be able to stop the run, makes me want to draft guys with size/speed and the ability to make a difference. We better not draft a single finesse player in this draft.

I’ll honestly be a bit surprised if he makes it into the 2nd round when all is said and done. Assuming he plays well in the bowl game showing he’s healthy again, I expect him to have a lot of buzz going into draft season.

He moves very well in his routes for a guy his size and I think he’s one of those guys that scouts will be higher on that draftniks come draft time, which seems to happen every year with some prospects. He was very productive in the SEC last year and was on his way to an excellent season this year until his injury.

There were some questions about his ability to win deep down the field coming into the season, but I think he was able to effectively show he can get in behind and make plays down field this season. He’s so well rounded as a prospect, I just don’t see him getting out of the first round. If we could trade back a little and still land him in the first round I’d be thrilled. If we took him at pick 10, I’d still be very excited about adding a stud WR prospect that provides so much needed size and consistent hands in our WR room.
I think you should be prepared to be surprised. I have not seen any mocks of him going in the 1st, almost all have been 2nd rnd and some even the 3rd. Which is great for us. The 2 guys I want for us in the 1st are Graham or McMillian but I doubt they will be there

I’m referring to this notion that we are supreme at finding WRs in later rounds. Other than Colston, I can’t think of any.

Don’t need Andrews. Need Warren from Penn State.
I’m about to go full @Infoman like he did with Bowers last year.
Warren is the guy we need. Dude lines up all over the field, including out of the shotgun. Plus the dude can block

We need to upgrade our top 2 TEs. Our guys aren't good at blocking. Holker is our best blocking TE and JJ is our worst. Overall we have one of the worst TE position groups at blocking in the NFL.

JJ should move back to WR and be a Big X.

Keep Moreau as a TE2/3 who is okay at everything, but not greay at anything.

Develop Holker.

I started sorting the PFF Premium Stats by blocking and looking at TE options in the draft. There are some big 6'5" - 6'7" 260-270lbs monsters out there. We need 1. Draft one or bring one is as a UDFA. So many TEs are trying to be receivers, we need one that gives us an edge in the running game.

There are a few complete guys, but we need a playmaker. Whoever that guy is, we need 1 of them.

If we add 1 playmaker, 1 blocker to go with Moreau and Holker our TE room would be set.

Currently our Slot is Amadi. I think he's a solid backup, but he shouldn't be starting for a good defense. And We don't know if Adebo will sign here or if he will be healthy enough to play next year. So, at a minimum we need to find a Slot CB. My preference is to find a better outside CB than Taylor because while I think Taylor can be fine on the outside, his skill set could make him a great Slot CB and playing outside gives him less opportunity to use his skills in run support and as a blitzer.

CB is far down the list of needs, but we really do need to be taking BPA with all our picks and we do need to find one more CB whether its a Slot or an outside CB. If Adebo comes back that may change.
I think there is an 80% chance Adebo comes back With Taylor, Adebo and McKinstry we should be in decent shape, more depth would be good but DL and an X WR is a way bigger need. Plus a pass rusher/run stopper is a big help for pass D.

He did. But he has looked good in GB. Tenn. rushed him to start too soon but he appears to have seriously progressed in GB. I think he would be worth a shot with around a 3rd round pick.
The system, supporting cast and coaching on GB is light years ahead of what he saw in TN.

You think Adebo comes back healthy enough? Thought I read his injury was pretty bad
