Taysom’s usage this season. (1 Viewer)

Olave, Shaheed, AK....

Hill is a difference maker in this offense, but he is not the only difference maker, you do not want Kamra, Olave or Shaheed to get the ball in space either.
The other guys are one dimensional players they don’t affect the game like Hill does. Look at the yardage and scoring when Hill is playing versus when he is not playing.

My point is that Kubiak, needs a game plan that accounts for Taysom missing time. I know it’s difficult without three legit wideouts, no real tightens to speak of, and a lack of talent at running back after Kamara. But this is why he earns the big bucks.
The offensive line is making it difficult for Kubiak to open up the offense, when your play design is about protection first its hard to utilize the tight ends and you end up running more quick passes than the down the field throws, this was discussed by Carr last week and there have been a few post sharing that insight.

I could be wrong but it seems like the offense changes a bit with Taysom out of the game. Less motion which has been helping out our struggling offensive line. I would have hoped they would have accounted for this. As much as I love Taysom he shouldn't be the lynch pin of our offense.

Who would have thought TH7 would become that valuable to the Saints?

He can't be the lynch pin and they are going to have to figure out how to move the ball when he is not in the game. As great a player as he is, he's 34 and he keeps getting hurt. So, they are going to have to figure out a way to use him when he's in the game, but not count on him all the time.

Personally, I think they should save his snaps for short yardage and plays in the redzone. Short yardage and redzone are the places we struggle the most without Hill. We have other options between the 20s, and AK is a good red zone runner, but Hill is nearly automatic in short yardage and inside the 10.

I love Taysom but he is not a durable player and never has been ranging all the way back to college.
Everyone loves Hill so let’s just put that away now…. Taysom may have played in a lot of games but his usage has always been very low, so playing in a game with 6 carries is hardly an example of durability.

Hill is a tough SOB who, unfortunately, is susceptible to injury.

Like Tina Turner once sang, "What's Love Got To Do With It?"

You read one of my posts that layed out the pure Facts proving that Hill has been quite durable as a Pro.

Yet after reading 📚 those Facts, you gave my post a Facepalm 🤦‍♂️ reaction. SMH

And then with that knowledge you chose to repeat the same false narrative all over again stating that he is injury prone.

You chose to use a 6-touch game to make light of his entire body of work and his durability.

What happened in College or Kindergarten is not relevant to his career as a Pro.

This man is now in his 8th professional season in the NFL, all as a Saint.

He has proven to be very durable. In fact, he has missed fewer games due to injury than any other Saints player from the terrific 2017 class. It's not even close. SMH

Now that I think of it, Tim Tebow was virtually a Taysom Hill clone, or more accurately Hill is a Tebow clone. Why did no team ever do with Tebow what Payton did with Hill?

And there have to be other guys out there like that. And not just power runners like Hill and Tebow, but guys that make yards with quickness that ran Read Option or some kind of Veer or Winged-T in college.

Tim Tebow had simalar size to Taysom Hill. He wasn't near as fast as a runner or near as accurate as a passer compared to Taysom Hill.

There was talk of trying to salvage Tim Tebows career by having him play the Swiss Army Knife role. He refused to do it. He was intent on playing QB.

5 teams in 3 years. Traded by one team. Waived by 4 teams. Out of the league. We'll never know what possibly could have been.

Tebow didn't have what Hill does! Could you imagine him blocking a punt, returning a kickoff, laying a lead block or protecting a punter? Can you imagine what that petulant child would have done on the Saints w/Brees? Hill has better hands, better speed, the BALLS & willingness, to do everything asked of him(Tebow refused to do anything but play QB). Hill could likely play on defense as well.
The only thing Tebow did better was to kneel down & pray after a play; Hill flashes the biggest grin in the NFL & keeps his religion to himself!
