Taysom fumble (2 Viewers)

Brees QB rating through the roof? Check.
Kamara having a career day? Check.

Time to sideline them so Taysom can run a Pop Warner play? You know it!

Aside from the officiating, this was the most frustrating thing about the game...and the games so far this season. It looked like Payton finally decided to ride the hot hand and then completely abandons what is working.

One of the things that Payton made a name for himself was in his ability to adjust to changes on the fly when the game plan designed through the week stopped working. It seems to be the opposite now....things start working well (particularly with the run) and Payton will switch gears before the defense shows they are able to stop what is working.

100% on Taysom. The defensive end stayed home the whole time. It's a very simple and effective playcall. QB reads end, if he crashes down, then keep it. If he stays home, give to the halfback. I don't know what Taysom saw that made him keep that ball.

I don’t like the read-option plays for Taysom... it opens the door for exactly that to happen because the ball is in a vulnerable position on the exchange/fake.
I’d much rather see Taysom run plays out of the empty backfield shotgun... where he can make 2 quick reads on patterns and then tuck it and run if neither option is open.

After last week, many wanted to see more of Taysom. Some even said up to 40% of snaps. Now, Coach is criticized for even putting him in. We can’t make up our dang minds!

We can’t because he can’t. He is rejecting the notion that rhythm is important when it comes to quarterbacks and an offense.

As the saying goes, if you have two quarterbacks you have none.

Pitch selection with Taysom is the problem. Taysom needs to be in space using speed and power, not jumbled behind guards and center.

Exactly. Selfish play. The read was obvious. He either totally botched the read or had it in his mind that he was keeping it.

Watch Hill fumble again. Had Josh Hill or Emmanuel Sanders blocked 55, Taysom wouldn’t have hesitated to pull ball and their were two blockers outside without a Packers’s defender within 10 yards. Might have been a TD. That play was all on Hill or Sanders, whoever had the assignment to block 55.
Um, it was a zone read with Smith being the read; he was supposed to be unblocked so that play wasn't on Josh Hill or Sanders at all. Taysom made the wrong read and Smith made a heck of a play.

Seems like taysom makes the wrong read 50% of the time.

I’ve noticed it more than once. Thing is, if he’s just being selfish it’s a problem but probably not the end of the world provides he self regulates. If he really has trouble making that read, well then we should’ve never paid him what we did.

Bonehead call by Payton . Simple hand off to Murray would have done it.

It’s a read option. Meaning do not block the end we will read to give or pull off his position.

The packers looked ready for Hill on all his plays especially running the ball. Peyton should have set up a screen or short pass.

Exactly. He should’ve handed the ball off in that situation.
