Announcement Taysom Hill out for the season with torn ACL-additional damage per Rapoport [Hill placed on Injured Reserve on 12/6] (3 Viewers)

Yep. Tore every knee ligament, tore the hamstring and calf off the bone. All no with damage to an artery I believe.
Yep, he tore the artery. It was the first of 6 surgeries. It was definitely far worse than Hill's.

McCallum suffered a complete hyperextension of his left knee, almost to a right angle. He suffered a ruptured artery in his left knee, and tore three ligaments, tore the calf and hamstring from the bone, and suffered nerve damage in the knee. He initially thought he'd only face a lengthy rehab, but McCallum's surgeon told him that there was no chance of him ever being medically cleared to play again. The surgeon said that he normally didn't see leg injuries this severe except in car accidents. Had the subsequent surgery not gone as planned, there was a chance his left leg would have been amputated.[11]

Yeah I remember watching that injury all to well when it happened. That was gruesome.

I’m hard pressed to think of a worse one live in TV as it happened.

There was a Bills player that broke his neck on a kick off during a pre-season game about 10 years ago. They did a procedure on the field that was experimental at the time that saved his life.

Kevin Everett. If I remember correctly the league banned the wedge on kickoffs after his injury.

Correct, and after Eric LeGrand’s injury a few years later, which also happened on a kickoff, then-Rutgers HC Greg Schiano began working on alternates to the kickoff to propose to the NFL (Schiano was hired by the Buccaneers in 2012). Schiano’s first kick teams coordinator at Rutgers? Darren Rizzi, whose modified kickoff proposal a decade later was accepted by the league.

Yep, that one was really bad. The view of the hit on Alvin Toles' leg was also pretty bad. The camera angle showed clearly how far his leg hinged in the wrong direction. Pretty rough to watch. :covri:

I'm watching this kid, Bryson Daily, QB for Army, single-handely destroy Tulane run D.

4tds in 3rd Q. Built like TH7. Stout, strong and fearless.
I agree 100%. I don't fully understand the military commitment related to his status for the NFL, but I'd definitely take Daily in 6th or 7th. The kid is a football player.
