Ted Lasso (2 Viewers)

Holy s$@t. Kudos, Ted Lasso! Now that's how you end a great series! Every character is in a different place than where they started, and it all makes perfect sense. It was all completely organic. Nothing was repetitive.

“It's not about me. It never was.”

Top 5 all-time series ending, easily.

as ive gotten older, ive begun to understand that its not the destination, but the journey that matters most. And that along the way, pay attention as you may miss some really beautiful things if you are too focused on the destination ( aka are we there yet ;0 )

Lasso, for me, was all about the journey and paying attention along the way. The note on the book draft at the end was a " yep exactly" moment.

So very well done.

Just on a lark, I went back and watched the very first episode. There were a couple call backs in the finale to the first episode that I didn't realize I missed until I watched episode 1 again.
Yep, for instance, Ted and Rebecca were wearing the same outfits at the end as they wore in episode 1... This video is a good breakdown of the last episode and all of the call backs:

Some last episode spoilers in this vid so it gets the sperler treatment (and damn if some onions weren't getting cut in it either). It's a wonderful video, so enjoy...

Great video, but something in there confuses me. They show the "Farewell Goodby" bit being filmed on the field AND in front of a blue screen. I wonder why they did both?

Probably due to retakes or fixes of some sort.

Coach Beard had an AMA yesterday on Reddit, lots of good tidbits:

One that I think mentioned here, is that Beard's wedding was not a dream sequence and Ted did not go to Beard's wedding. The way he described it is their relationship is one in which they can be together constantly and then not see each other for years, and then pick up like they never left. He imagined it as Beard had a short notice wedding, called Ted but Ted had to coach a game for Henry that weekend and Beards was like "cool, good luck!".

Every now and then the show would start to get a little shmaltzy for me and start to lose me, but then it would hit with some quality slapstick like the coach with the short shorts hanging dong after getting shoved.

I LOVED season 1but I had some issues with season 2 and especially with season 3. I felt like so many plot and character developments just started happening off screen and characters would get introduced without any real payoff (imo).

I think they nailed the finale though.

I will say that no matter how many issues started popping up (for me), the show would always deliver a great moment that would pull me back in, make me feel something, and keep me going. They had a very high hit rate as far as that was concerned.

And like I said, very good finale.
