Teddy Bridgewater hanging it up after this season (1 Viewer)

Great guy but y’all higher over rate him in this forum. He did his job here, but acting like he was the answer to Brees succession is revisionist at best.

Also, anyone think it’s weird that he’s announcing this decision now??
He was never going to be Brees' successor. But would I take Bridgewater over...
- Andy Dalton? Yes.
- Trevor Siemian? Yes.
- Jameis Winston? Yes.
- Derek Carr. Yes.

Probably just intimating that he’s interested in a broadcasting role or a role as a position coach somewheres…

Farewell Tedward Two Gloves

More than any QB we've had other that Brees, he was able to run Payton's system without a lot of modifications. It made him the best backup we could have had for Brees and if the timing had worked out possibly the bridge to a new QB era after Drew retired. It wasn't to be, but I really loved having him on the team while we did. Congrats to him on a career that was nearly cut way too short.

Should of been the bridge QB between Brees and a drafted QB
I think that was the unofficial plan but Drew came back another year. This is where the question of how you deal with your aging HOF QB becomes a touchy subject.

Yep, and playing that final season with no fans in the stands is a lousy way to go out.

Why would no one be in the stands? We obviously did not handle it ideally because here we are with no Sean and no long-term QB answer.

I'll have to stop you there. He was able to run Broken Brees' offense without any modifications, which would have led to a seamless transition if Drew chose to leave after 2019 and I believe he could have kept that going for a long time.
Drew not leaving killed that but Payton's system remained his system; just different for the QB it is built for.

I hate Teddy B couldn't stay but I understand the 60 million reasons he didn't.

If they don’t fire DA I might hang it up as well…

I’ve watched every Saints game since the 1987 season, most of the Brees wins multiple times, except for the last Ditka season.

You only get about 4000 Sundays in your life, I’m not wasting another 17 if DA is still here.
