Kentucky Fried Chicken is leaving its roots behind, so to speak, with the infamous brand set to follow in the recent wake of a handful of companies relocating to Texas.

Among the fast-food chains operated by Yum Brands, KFC is relocating its U.S. corporate headquarters from Louisville, Kentucky, to Plano, Texas, Yum announced on Tuesday. About 100 corporate workers will move from Louisville to Plano in the next six months as a result, according to the company.

The parent company wants to bring additional teams together with the idea of better serving its customers, franchisees, workers and shareholders, Yum CEO David Gibbs stated……

Been a while since I have had good KFC. Not many chicken places in my neck of the woods (Indiana). The one in our town has closed and reopened under new management 3 times in the last 5 years and is currently closed down.

Surprised CBS used infamous to describe their brand. But yeah, it's terrible.

When I search church's fried chicken it shows locations for church's texas chicken. Has it always been church's texas chicken? I haven't had it in decades. There's one 63 miles from me....road trip.
i think they changed there name a few years ago. i haven't been to one since i was a kid.

I'm a huge fan of fried chicken. KFC lost my business years ago over prices. Since then I've been eating mainly gas station or Kroger's fried chicken. I've found I'm not real picky. This fall we moved a couple hours northwest of where we were and they have Lee's chicken out here which I had never heard of. I ate it and thought man does that taste like KFC....looked it up and it was started by the Colonel's nephew. Been there a few times and they have gizzards which I like and was able to let the kids try but the service at the one near us is horrible so not sure when we'll go back if ever.

Yeah @zeetes is right - they rebranded a few years ago.

True story: I started getting Church's two years ago for Saints games because the Popeyes here just got so flipping horrible that I was willing to try other options. Church's has a pretty good app and you can make a big order ahead of time, and specify when you want to pick it up.

And, amazingly, they pretty much always have it ready. When I would order Popeyes, they wouldn't even start the order until you got there - just a mess.

I think Church's spicy chicken is decent.

No, but George Church started the company in San Antonio, so that's part of the reason they renamed it.

We always went there when I was a kid. We went to a KFC once with friends somewhere and I was appalled at how bland and tasteless it was compared to Church's.

I remember after the city re-opened after Katrina, a national reporter was walking around a neighborhood and talking to residents. The reporter said "How do you feel the community is going to be impacted by the flooding of so many churches?"

The resident said "I don't really know . . . we get our chicken at Popeyes."

Church's still have the half cobs of corn? Now you got me reminiscing and wanting some church's. Just not sure I want to drive an hour each way for it.

We have an Albertsons grocery store in BR.
My favorite fried chicken, hands down.
Crazy enough, the baked chicken is at least as good and probably better.
On Monday’s an 8 piece is $6.99.

I’ll be eating some in about 10 minutes.
😋😋

OMG, getting a bucket of chicken was always like a treat. We didn't have a KFC near so IF we got one, it was only on car trips.
