Was Sunday the end of a special era for Cam Jordan? Saints DE knows it's 'an uncertain time'

Sunday was Cam Jordan's 236th game in a Saints uniform. Was it his last one in the Superdome? The Saints DE isn't sure.

Cam Jordan certainly was acted like this could be his last game in the Dome as a Saint. Sign of the times. Whatever happens in the offseason, Thank you Cam for all you have done these past years on defense!

Yeah NOF has an article with him stating he’s playing next season but doesn’t know if it will be in New Orleans. Meaning he knows there’s a chance they release him.

I hope he stays here. One of my favorite players ever.

Cam also recorded his 121st sack today, which, IMHO, makes him definitely HOF-worthy since he's the Saints all-time leader in sacks as a Saint (I realize Rickey Jackson had more but he didnt record as many sacks as a Saints player as Cameron Jordan has). He meets more then enough of the "check boxes" to meet the qualifications of being a HOF DE in surpassing 120 career sacks.

Yet, why do I get this subconscious, nagging feeling that their will still be "naysayers"-football beat reporters, writers, fellow NFL HOF alumni who will argue that while close, he doesn't quite cross that final far of excellence to satisfy their insatiable yet somehow changeable standoffs for induction like Andre Tippett, J.J. Watt probably, but greats like Jared Allen and Cam Jordan get screwed behind closed doors with a few influential beat reporters who have a vindictative agenda to settle or maintain.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Cam come back for 1 more round and surpassing Ricky on the sack list. He needs 7 to tie and 8 to pass. Next year would give him 15 years, same as Ricky, but he would have done it all as a Saint!

Thank for everything Cam Jordan! No player is more deserving of winning a Lombardi, and I'm sorry it didn't happen for you. It should have happened in 2017 or 2018

I mean I don't like Jared Allen because he was a Viking but he had a HOF career. Cam will get his due and if the NFL doesn't give it to him then we will.

I despised Jared Allen when he played but there is no doubt he was an all time great player. He sounds like on a personal level he's kind of a cool dude too.

Yep, if it kicks the can further, hard no. We need to be shedding more old veterans. As much as he’s done for the franchise, it’s not fair to the next generation of players on the team to cap cripple them just to ride out into the sunset tour.
