That Last game vs Atlanta may determine the division/playoffs (2 Viewers)

we only have nfc opponents left and half of them are division opponents, we are already behind in tie breakers, it's mathematically possible, but very unlikely.
With Atlanta losing yesterday, that gave the Saints a little breathing room.

What the Saints cannot do is lose back-to-back to the NYG and LAR.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the saints win the division and upsets someone in the wild card round. Any given Sunday and I’ve seen it happen to the saints when we played a 7 win team in the playoffs and lost. Lattimore,MT,Rasheed and a couple other reinforcements will be back. So I would not be surprised.

I would.

If the Saints ended up winning the division (which I don't think they will, I think TB wins it), they'd be the 4th seed, which means they'll get to play the highest wild card, which means either the Eagles or Dallas: they are both 3 games ahead of anyone else not leading a division, so with 4 games left, the overwhelming odds says one of them is going to be the 5th seed.

Regardless of what happened 13 years ago, I have not seen anything in this 2023 Saints team that tells me they can beat the 2023 Eagles or the 2023 Cowboys. But I can see either the Eagles or the Cowboys coming into the Dome and embarrassing the Saints on national TV. And frankly, the way things are, I rather the Saints not go to the playoffs by virtue of being the best team in the worst division, and then get embarrassed at home on national TV.

The Falcons have the pleasure of playing the Panthers Sunday, while the Saints and Bucs get the Giants and Packers, respectively.
The Bucs can beat the Packers even if they don’t play great and Atlanta can beat the Panthers even if they make a ton of mistakes. I don’t know what to expect from us so… we could all be 7-7 on Sunday evening, but with the NFC South,

Chicago beat Detroit yesterday and the Jets beat the Eagles. Any given Sunday !

This team is still playing to win and Atlanta lost today. So it’s a 3 way tie for first in the nfc south. That last game could determine the division.
We have to win out for it to matter, but I agree with you that it will all come down to the last game against Atlanta if we take care of our business...

I would be shocked. This team is horrible. We can add back Lattimore, Rasheed, Thomas, and anyone else that's injured. It doesn't matter. The head coach will still be on the sideline, the offensive coordinator will still call the plays, and the quarterback will still be like a deer in head lights staring down open receivers. I would be shocked if we win one more game.
