That non-call may have closed the door on this era of the Saints (1 Viewer)

No. You weren’t right. It’s not over, it’s just time to find a new QB.

And hopefully your record prediction is just as accurate this time as it was when you started this thread two years ago 😂😂

I have made many predictions on this board and have had more right than wrong. So whatever will be will be...

Actually, we can now run plays that were not part of our game since 2015ish.

Sean changed the offense to support Brees failing arm.

Imagine what we can do now, and Sean believes Jameis has the talent to do it. If he doesnt, QBs coming in the league and making noise the first season....so we have a plethora of options.

I got infraction points for bringing up a post that was 6 months old.

The Brees situation became very intense for everyone and turned Saints fans against Saints fans. Even some who work on here had feelings about it, when we all were just looking for the best way ahead. We just didnt agree on what is the best way ahead.

This was Mercy...and we can move on...cheer together. So, no crying over infraction points...we have draft coming.

no tears here

I saw a couple of takes today and I’m sure you’ll see more from the idiot talking heads tomorrow that Brees Saints career was “tarnished” because he only got to one Super Bowl in 15 years. That shows an absolute complete lack of effort to research why instead of just relying on these last two years as their guide. His defense early cost him at least two other appearances and the Minny miracle maybe another. Certainly he and Saints reached a second one in 2018 and they all know it but choose to ignore the non call against Rams. Totally dishonest journalism.
2011 - SF playoff game - They take out Pierre Thomas early in the game with a cheap shot... We go down big and Drew brings us back... They go up again and again Drew brings us back... They go up a third time and AGAIN Drew to Jimmy Graham gives us the lead with 40 seconds only to see Greg Williams go brain dead and allow their 4.35 TE to be covered by Roman Harper (whom I can out run) and beat us as time expired...

2017 - Minny goes up by 17 in arguably the third toughest stadium for a visiting team in the league. Drew brings us all the way back in a deafening stadium only to have his defense let him down AGAIN

2018 - Rams - Well you know

Should have been 4 SB's at a MINIMUM. But you wont hear that from the dishonest media

DB = GOAT AND IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE

The media isn't the media of yesterday. They all are vying for attention. Everything is a sound bite or a click bait. They make cheap comments for cheap attention.

Agree on your 2011 synopsis, and 2018, I thought those were SB capable teams and we would have one at least one maybe both.

Disagree on 2017, our offense was terrible that 1st half, Brees threw 2 picks and we scored 0 points. Brees has to shoulder some of the blame for that, of course he deserves a lot of credit as well, he did lead us back in the game with a chance to win. Folks forget we put ourselves in a deep hole early, it was inexplicable to me that we were so bad offensively in the entire 1st half of that game....I don't think we were a SB capable team that year...

What's the show with Nick Wright and Brandon Marshall...is it First Take?? They alluded to this. Didn't mention 2011, but did acknowledge 2017 and 2018.

Yea I saw that and was shocked... Someone must have read my memo

You may be right but in my mind the great ones, in this case the GOAT, can shake off bad halves or quarters. What Drew did in bringing the team back after the start is GOATness in my opinion.

Brady is give all the credit for those rings but he stunk up the first three quarters against the ATL; he stunk up way back when during his first SB run against Oakland and in fact fumbled away the game only to hev the nfless come up with something called the tuck rule; he lost the SB against Seattle only to have Seattle GIVE IT AWAY...

Yet nothing is said about those.

Because we lost a C who graded slightly below average this past season and a RB who was about to take more of a secondary role behind an elite do-it-all back? We will miss Unger’s veteran presence, for sure. But what he brought wasn’t irreplaceable.

We need to sign Cook because there’s a gaping hole at TE and our offense desperately missed that element. But the sky isn’t falling.
Cook can be great, or he sucks. That's a hard decision for me. I woud draft one and find a FA that is serviceable for now, if we get the cap clearance.

That post was from 2019

You actually were not right. You posted that in March 2019 and referenced going 7-9. We went 13-3 in 2019 and 12-4 in 2020. So no, you were incorrect that it was over.

Now? Yes, the Drew Brees era ended yesterday. We will see where we go from here. Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis are still here.
