The 4th oldest roster in the NFL belongs to (2 Viewers)

Average age of 53 man roster, Saints is 4th oldest.

Can’t fault the team for having iron men. The over 30 group includes Cam Jordan, Demario Davis, Taysom Hill, Derek Carr, Tyrann Matthieu, Marcus Maye. They’re playing well, so why would older age matters?

The Davenport pick hurt so bad cause I
wanted him to be amazing and at times he showed he could be that guy when he played..but we had Lamar Jackson right there.....like we really had Lamar right there....for free.....and we would've had next years 1st round pick too....oh fiddles.

I call them seasoned veterans, old dudes know all the tricks. I'm liking this, you only need youth at WR and CB, maybe RB, all other positions I'll take experience any day

What would we be if we had, say, a 45-year-old quarterback? I know we don't and I know Tampa Bay doesn't but I'm just curious.

Anybody remember George Allen? He always had the oldest team in the League. He's trade away drafy picks for old veterans and if you made the team as a rookie you wouldn't see the field for years. He was a great coach who was always in contention and won a Super Bowl.

We were second oldest last year. The difference between average age of a middle of the pack team and a top 5 oldest team is like 6 months.

We have 3 QB’s in their 30’s which is still prime for the position. We also carry more age aling the offensive line then most team and they have longer primes.

Non issue.

I think the Saints have drafted fine, but they’ve had a lack of overall picks every year. Add in that fact that they’ve lost a lot of their good draft picks via free agency and that’s how you get an old roster.

Yep. Missed out on Mahomes by one pick in 2017 and then could have had Lamar fall right into their laps in 2018 had they stayed put. Just thinking about only one of those instances hurts, but to put them back to back...double ouch!

QB’s and kickers/punters can weigh on the average even though age isn’t as big of a factor, a better measure would exclude those positions. An even better measure would adjust for each position group.

The picks we traded turned into Rashaad Penny, Micah Kiser and Deandre Baker. Two of those guys didn't even play in the league last year and the other guy has gone over 100+ carries in a season once.
Doesn’t mean that’s who we’d have picked. There were some pro bowlers like Lamar Jackson, Nick Chubb, Shaq Leonard, Courtland Sutton, and Harold Landry taken within the next 15 picks.

16 of our current 22 projected starters on O and D are draft picks or UFAs we scouted and signed as if they were draft picks.

I don’t know how that’s drafting poorly.
