No, drafting so well that you have a lot of star players earning second contracts does that. That's not what I said. Free agency makes it older
Yep. Missed out on Mahomes by one pick in 2017 and then could have had Lamar fall right into their laps in 2018 had they stayed put. Just thinking about only one of those instances hurts, but to put them back to back...double ouch! The Davenport pick hurt so bad cause I
wanted him to be amazing and at times he showed he could be that guy when he played..but we had Lamar Jackson right there.....like we really had Lamar right there....for free.....and we would've had next years 1st round pick too....oh fiddles.
QB’s and kickers/punters can weigh on the average even though age isn’t as big of a factor, a better measure would exclude those positions. An even better measure would adjust for each position group. We were second oldest last year. The difference between average age of a middle of the pack team and a top 5 oldest team is like 6 months.
We have 3 QB’s in their 30’s which is still prime for the position. We also carry more age aling the offensive line then most team and they have longer primes.
Non issue.
Doesn’t mean that’s who we’d have picked. There were some pro bowlers like Lamar Jackson, Nick Chubb, Shaq Leonard, Courtland Sutton, and Harold Landry taken within the next 15 picks. The picks we traded turned into Rashaad Penny, Micah Kiser and Deandre Baker. Two of those guys didn't even play in the league last year and the other guy has gone over 100+ carries in a season once.
