Best pure passer I ever watched play was Marino. Couldn’t stand him but man he could sling it.

Rodgers is having an unbelievable season, forget Tom Brady. The selection of best quarterback ever is doubtless a subjective one. A case can be made for a number of great quarterbacks. And then are quarterbacks like Otto Graham, Sid Luckman, Bob Waterfield, and Sammy Baugh whom I never saw play.
I do not personally like the quarterback I am going to name, and he does not have the Super Bowl rings that Tom Brady and Joe Montana have. But the best quarterback I have ever seen is Aaron Rodgers. He has good size and mobility. He certainly now has complete command of his offense. But he has a combination of fast release, velocity, and accuracy that is simply exceptional. The decision might be close to a coin-flip in some instances, but I would take him over Brady, Peyton Manning, Unitas, Elway, Montana, Steve Young, Favre, and Namath.
Naw, Rodgers has always had an excellent team around him. As much as I don’t like Brady, can you name many of his receivers around him when he was at NE. That guy is like Brees. Give him a good line, and he’d make his receivers look like Lynn Swann, Jerry Rice, Micheal Thomas, and Micheal Irvin.MamaRoux, unfortunately, I am not as youthful as you suggested. I actually watched Unitas, Starr and Namath. I guess we simply have a different opinion. I saw Montana play countless times on television and too many times in person. He was a great quarterback. But I happen to think Montana is a tad overrated and Steve Young a tad underrated. And Montana played on a team with superb coaching and with superior team on both sides of the ball. I think Rodgers has absolutely carried the Packers for any number of years. And I do not care personally for the guy.
He's not even the best Green Bay QB of all time! Most naturally-gifted passer? Perhaps. Best actual QB? No way.
Yeah, but GB has gotten awfully lucky in some of their games, winning on last plays of games where they should have lost, but the coaches on the opponents have made head scratching decisions that cost them the game.Rodgers is having an unbelievable season, forget Tom Brady.
Then we agreeAnd I do not care personally for the guy.
Even after last night I have to say Brady. And I really really hate to say it. He's just separated himself from the rest.

Look… I hated/hate (HATE) the 49ers, but Montana was the most clutch QB there ever was, and he’s definitely locked-in to the top 2 ever… but Aaron Rodgers isn’t the other guy.Over Montana? U must B 2 youthful to KNOW just how $ Joe Montana truly was! That was during my heavy betting days and when WE had The Dome Patrol and Bobby Hebert was cooking w/ Eric Martin and a couple of great RBs! They would beat us and in very close games and then Joe would ALWAYS seem to "cover" so I made solid coin betting The 9'ers. Guess I'm partial but Good Teams Bring $s Home !
How? The only argument is rings. He'll only have the most yards and TDs by virtue of attrition (and those records may not last with a 17 game season). He's never been extraordinarily accurate. If you evaluate the QB position the same way we evaluate every other position in football then Brady simply isn't the best. Manning and Brees were both definitively better QBs.
And that is my point. Randy Moss was rented for a season. Aaron Hernandez was there for a cup of coffee then went to fail, and Wes, Julian, Gronk, and Ben to Brady were like Colston, Graham, Meachem, and Lance Moore were to Brees.Looking strictly at the QB position (ignoring rings, teams, schemes, etc.) Brees pretty easily takes the #1 spot and the only reason anybody could disagree is because everybody wants rings to count as a QB achievement instead of a team achievement.

Randy Moss. Aaron Hernandez. Gronk. Ben Watson when he was still in his prime. Wes Welker. Julian Edelman. Brady had plenty of really, really good receiving options in NE. And in TB his top three receivers would all be WR1 on basically every other roster in the NFL.
The best receivers Brees ever threw to were Marques Colston and Jimmy Graham until Michael Thomas showed up.
