I love Cam Jordan and want him as a Saint until he retires, but those figures are ridiculous for his age.

Does this make sense to anyone? So is he saying the end result doesn't matter as long as you had a good time with your buddies along the way? Is this a real quote? Seems like an odd thing for a GM to say.

I agree that you need more than 2 sacks from your LDE. You also have the highest percentage of defensive salary cap dollars tied up with Cam. He’s gotta play DE mostly, just because of that.

Who says he's gotta play DE? Because of what he makes? San Francisco pays Hargrave, L.A. pays Donald like DEs. We're stuck, he would fit well in DT role, or we can keep doing what we're doing.

I love Cam. What he's done for us. He has taken a little less money sometimes to be here. But this contract is a contract I hate. It's paying a guy for you've done, not what you are going to do. Anyone in their right mind wouldn't pay him this kind of money. It was a thank you contract. And those are the worst.

Micky Loomis is probably the only GM in the league that could slip this kind of over-the-top extension on the owners desk and get a signature. No discredit to Cam if he can get it, which he will, good for him. But, for the sake of the betterment of the team, wow! Can ML seriously look the other young upstarts we have deservingly in line for an extension, bonus, whatever, and say sorry I’ve spent every dime in the best possible way?

Just goes to show you how much free reign ML has with Mrs Benson’s money.

Exactly. I don't mind restructure of guys like Kamara or Latt. But resigning Cam when he's obviously in decline is a waste of funds. These are the contracts that get you in a mess. Definitely a thank you contract.
