The "come clean" thread, dish out and eat your own crow (2 Viewers)

I had a bad feeling this wouldn’t age well.

I didn’t want to be right and I don’t feel good about being right.

This team has a lot of injuries, but that’s no excuse to look as bad as they did today. You saw a lack of heart, effort, ability, depth, schematics, adjustments, planning, etc.

If you get out coached by Todd Bowles (HC version of Bowles, not the DC version) then that says all that needs to be said.

Now, I will say a few things were out of the coaching staff’s control, for example, the terrible Olave fumble that was all his fault for switching the ball to the opposite hand when any other player is covering it up there bracing for contact.

But there was a lot that was all on DA, specifically the undisciplined nature of the team

Biggest difference between Bowles and DA is this. His teams dont make stupid mental errors. He also.almost took a bad jets team in 2015 to the playoffs, and he coached what was supposed to be the worst team in the NFL the 2017 jets to. 5 wins

He’s a bottom 7 head coach in the league and that’s well documented. He can’t manage the in game stuff and has never been able to. He literally showed it again in the post season and did it again this season with time management.

He’s a better motivator and he’s better at delegating responsibility than DA

Either way, I’d take him over DA but wouldn’t want either of them if I had a choice

It really stinks the division has been mediocre for 3 years and the Saints cant cash in ln the opportunity

This team without the OL injuries, the Taysom injury, the slew of defensive injuries, and the Carr injury is probably 4-2 or 5-1. There was something there.

If you weren’t predicting that injuries would destroy us after week 2, then I don’t think it’s fair to rub this thread in others’ faces.

Werner was out and Tyrann got hurt during the game. Otherwise this was the opening week defense. This is DAs defense. Tied of excuses after excuses. Every team suffers injuries. 2020 Saints lost Drew, Thomas and AK still won 11 games. DA is a dud of a HC.

The "talent" on this team is overhyped. No one's heard half the players that we claim are all pro

Every team goes through injuries. That's why depth and conditioning is also part of the team. Obviously we're lacking after a fluke opener

SMH , yeah every team has injuries , but not like this. Our OL is decimated, Our starting C has been with the team a WEEK and he was on the jets PS before that. We have way more than an " every team goes through injuries" situation

He's not just bottom 7 in the league. He is ranked 183rd all time with a .347 Win/Loss percentage. There really isn't a good excuse to keep this going.

Oh I was referring to Todd Bowles with that. DA is certainly bottom 2 in the league as Hc

It’s nice to fantasize about this alternative scenario you shared, but a) there is literally no proof this team would be anything other than what the record is. it’s pretending. Ask Bill Parcells.

and b) a lot of posters rubbed a 2-0 start in the face of other Saints fans when it’s a 17 game schedule and the current HC had the same record last year and blew it.
