The Hawks have traded Dejounte Murray to the Pelicans, sources said. (3 Viewers)

You sound like you are hating for personal reasons. I didn't get any of what you are saying from Naji at all. In fact, he may have just played the best season of his career shooting 38% from 3 in the regular season and 40% in the post season.

Either personal or someone who didn't watch Pels basketball in 2023-2024.

What year are we in? I'm not like a Naji stan or anything but he played great in his role this year, played with much more maturity and discipline, and there weren't ball hog vibes from him. He's very replaceable but I'm just confused by the take. Feels very 2021-2022.

Agreed. Naji has done nothing but improve his game every year and I love having an enforcer on the team. Great chemistry guy and he is like that lineman that every football team needs that brings a nasty streak which makes the other players better

I mean... 32 is really old for a small guards that can't initiate offense.

It's always better to be a year early than a year late. It could be the difference between getting assets or paying assets to unload him. With him having an insane career year as a shooter. The value of shooters in the NBA being a bit high atm. Strike when the iron is hot at the deadline.

No hurry ATM.

CJ isn't "really old" at all. He's still on the final edge of his prime years. You look to trade him ASAP while his value is the highest after one the best shooting years he's ever had. His value can easily tank for a ton of reasons by the time February rolls around. Especially for a player who's dealt with injuries and odd lung issues. You don't take that risk and wait for the deadline.

The point is acquiring a good 5 that will fit in with our offense and is a good rim protector. If you think a team would give us one for CJ you are nuts.
I like CJ but good 3 point shooters who are a detriment on defense are far more common than the type of center we need
That type of center won't be had for a single player that's not already all-nba level. So you're nuts to even suggest that. BI by himself wouldn't be enough either especially since he's still looking for a long-term contract. CJ, on a shorter contract, plus draft assets would be more than enough especially since any team looking to trade that type of center is likely in a full rebuild.

Otherwise, you're just looking for a more mature and refined Yves Missi type center. CJ and maybe a few draft assets can get that now.

That’s when you posed to sell him to a team like he got sold to us he more than a 3pt guy he’s a certified bucket and great leader /vet that can help said team(pistons ) with up and coming guards lol ain’t y’all tired of being the ones getting finessed

This is the Dejounte the Pelicans want. Not necessarily the one in Atlanta. Hopefully he hasn't lost the ability to dish out these kinds of dimes. The one at 4:05 might p off Willie though  :ROFLMAO:

Murray and Nikola Jokic were the only players to record 1,500 points, 500 assists and 100 steals last season. Murray also joins Luka Doncic as the only guards to average 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in each of the past three seasons (minimum 40 games in each).

In addition to Dejounte Murray and Luka as guards, Brandon Ingram also averaged at least 20/5/5 in each of the past 3 seasons as a forward. The only other forwards to achieve that consistency is Lebron and Jimmy Butler. Both higher usage and higher minute players. Not counting Giannis because he's a part time center.

By Shams Charania, Hunter Patterson and Will Guillory

The Atlanta Hawks have traded guard Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans, league sources confirmed Friday. The Hawks are receiving Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels, E.J. Lidell and two first-round picks from the Pelicans in return.

Just here to say that Murray + Williamson will be a great combo. Zion is a Dragon, Murray is a Rat, they are friends.

McCollum I’d def keep but Ingrams time should be over soon. Not a good fit for synastry.

Plan on taking a look at the Center we drafted to see how he fits.

Well that was quick Yves is a Monkey and the Monkey, Rat, Dragon are all part of the same triad. The Pels have their young trio in place. I’m excited to see them grow together, I may get season tickets and get back into Basketball.
