The Investment Thread (2 Viewers)

I pulled a lot of money back into the investment account today as well.
Same, I dumped out of all my Ford today as well as Charge Point. I figure I can get back in at a discount.

Only thing I kept in my investment port are cheap biotechs that are play money anyway.

I've been trading my arse off this month since the weather has been slow and I've been in front of the desk. I have a feeling that is about to change dramatically.

Hey, at least gas prices are trending in the right direction for you though… a little off-topic, but you have to have ur own car & setup to do the chasing right ? So do you just monitor the weather activity and then get in the car and haul arse to where the action is, even clear across the country ? Or do you hop a plane and then get a rental car ? Im sure youve addressed it before but i cant remember .

12 hours or less I almost always drive. More than 12 hours I almost always fly. Yes, I get to make all of my own decisions so it's up to me. It's actually in my best interest to have really high gas prices. The really cheap gas prices, easy money and covid related economics flooded the market with competition to the point nobody is really earning a decent living. I've put myself in much better position to weather a storm over the years than most (pun intended) due to contracts and efficiency. A period of inflation and tougher economics would actually be quite favorable for long term business. The people that have been successful doing this for a long time make the important decisions. Sometimes the important decision is choosing to stay home.

Looks like the downturn this afternoon was manipulated. Good thing it was identified as fake pretty quickly because if the masses bought into that number the markets would have been triggering emergency stops.

Looks like we may get a little bull trap in premarket. The volatility this morning is gonna be nuts at market open.

Wow Delta getting crushed premarket.

Yeah, AAL is down 5% today but it was enough for me to sell my hedge insurance on it that I bought yesterday afternoon and then I grabbed more calls. May be a mistake but I really think it is going to take a surprise increased rate hike or bad earnings to force new lows. Both are very possible.

If you only held FAANG stocks the last 6 months in equal weight then you are down 37%. SPY is down 18% and the Nasdaq Composite is down 24%.

Nice rebound. Buying puts on the close and selling them on open and then buying the open and selling the close on long plays has been easy money but it is beginning to feel trendy. I'm set up to do the same tomorrow but I don't think I'll buy tomorrow's dip if it happens.

Today has been pretty interesting so far. Some stuff has just fallen off a cliff, some have nose dived and now green. Some have raced at open and now red.
