In recent past the Jets have been one of my most hated teams, mostly because of their cocky coach always talking like his team is the best in the league and the fact that
I've thought they're team was overrated. Now the Jets are 9-3 like us, one game behind the Pats in the division. Plus the Pats lead the tiebreaker due to their win over the Ravens. The Jets lost to the Ravens in the opening weekend.

Anyway, the situation we are in currently sucks (facing a No. 5 seed in the playoffs if we get in and playing on the road throughout). It's good to know one of the media's darlings possibly could finish 13-3 and play on the road throughout the playoffs as well. Hopefully if this happens to the Jets, there will be a bigger outcry from the media to change the seeding rules in the NFL so in the future we don't have a 13-3 team travel to a 7-9 division winner in the first round of the playoffs.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I've been telling my friends back in NY that the Jets were overrated and it would catch up with them when they played a real team. Boy was I right, they were humilated on national TV!

Maybe now their coach and fans will CHILL OUT with all this talk about being the best team in the league

Remember last year how many Jets fans became huge Saints supporters after we beat them. Do you remember how classy and fun they were on SSR. I am a Bellicheck and Brady fan, but we owe the Jets fans some loving like they gave us last year. And they gave us a bunch. If you don't like Ryan , how can you like GW.They are mirror images, albeit one is a bit thicker than the other

Do the Jets still have another game against the Patriots in regular season?

Gotcha, once we split with the Falcons, we will hopefully be one game ahead or tied, and not one game behind like the Jets.

You might be a Jets supporter, and that's all fine. I might respect their fans, but I root against their team because it's fun to see cocky people fall flat on their face like that. Anyway, what about the possible positive impact on playoff seeding rules if the Jets finish 13-3 or 12-4 and are on the road throughout playoffs?

As of now, we'll still be a 1/2-game behind unless the Falcons lose to the Panthers or Seahawks based on them owning the tiebreaker.

I was pulling for the Jets last night because I like the attitude they bring to the game. However, after the beat down last night, I have to wonder if Sanchez's confidence will be shaken. He made some pretty bad throws last night.

We would be tied with the same overall record. The 1/2 game is just a way of expressing the tie-breaker.

Well, whatever way you wanna look at it, the Falcons must lose two more games for us to win the division.

I was just trying to see how similar the situation with the jets and saints really is. It is not the same because they were going into the game with the same overall record and a win in the first game. Their best outcome was to go one full game ahead with a sweep of the Patriots, and are now one full game behind with a split.

We will be going into the Falcons with a loss in the first game and likely one game behind. So considering that, we would either come out of the game with the same overall record and split with the Falcons (and still be losing the tiebreaker), or come out 2 games back and swept.

What we hope for is to gain a game on the Falcons before then.

I hear ya. I just thought their situation was similar enough based on the fact that we are both one game plus a tiebreaker out and are looking at either a 1 seed or a 5 seed despite owning the second best record in the conference.

Yep and that is the same. We have an advantage over the jets in that respect in that one of our remaining games is against the Falcons.

I hope that the big Falcons will be like the Jets and looking at the #5 seed with a big 12-4 record. (I'd settle for 11-5)

They would play the Jags if the season ended today. That's the easiest team in the AFC playoff race, in my opinion.
