The Loomis narrative (2 Viewers)

I believe actions speak louder than words we see what is happening on the field and winning comfortably against division rivals your last two games of the season and still missing the playoffs does not mean you are on the right path; just means you might not be as bad as you think but you aren't as good as you can be. This team has some soul searching to do, and it's up to the coaching staff and GM to see them through. The past couple years have shown they have no ability to do that even with one of the easiest schedules in the league this year, that is why I say actions speak louder than words.

So there is a theme running through many threads about Mickey not caring about the fans and/or being some accomplice to DA’s fecklessness
- is this based on anything specific or is it just fan’s anger creating a narrative and then other fans just repeating it until it seems like an actual thing

It seems prevalent enough to suggest that I missed something, but it feels like I’m just reading spleens and not an actual story
ACTION (or lack thereof) speaks volumes!

Thanks, so he is indeed Lucky Loo. Hiring Sean seems to be the only thing he got right, and now he's winging it.

QFT above.....every move since CSP left has been either lazy/easy or now desperate.....not sure what Guido is going on about but Loomis seems pretty out of touch and arrogant in the interviews I've seen, at a minimum, not a good look.....but I suspect much worse.....

Loomis's (and the entire FO/ownership) problem is Saints fans know what a good, competent coaching staff looks like and we haven't seen one in 3 years.....

He's done none of those things. If anything, it's precisely the opposite. He's conservative and patient to a fault. He probably gives a little too much rope to coaches. He uses a longer timeline than just about any other GM to manage the cap. He defers football matters to the coaches.

His approach only works if you have a very strong, detail oriented coach like Payton. Allen is really a poor fit, and I think where Loomis falls short is evaluating personnel. He whiffed with the Allen hire, and he was really fortunate with the Payton hire.
This is what some of the younger fans don't understand: Mickey is finance guy, not personnel.

That was his shortcoming 20 years ago and it hasn't changed at all. Before the 05 season started, rumblings were going around about his performance and inability to identify good personnel. That was a long time ago but we're seeing some of the same crap we saw back then happen right now.

IF history is our guide, it's going to take another 3-14 season for changes to happen.
Patience is not to be confused with inept.

Jeff Ireland and staff are in charge of personnel for the most part IMO.....They have missed on some players, mostly due to injury issues, but I still have confidence in them....probably the only confidence I have left in the Saints organization....

Ireland was a Payton referral via Parcells, another example of Lucky Loo being out of his depths.

Here’s one:

In one of his WWL interviews he also shaded fans by saying they weren’t showing up and supporting the team because they were essentially poor and needed to sell their tickets to visitors for money. I can’t remember which week. Go to WWL and look.
From the article: "[Loomis:] “We just had a game where we had 444 yards. We had five trips into the red zone. We’re top-10 in our league in trips into the red zone. So it’s hard to score if you’re not getting into the scoring area. "

Certainly, Loomis doesn't think that a team has to be in the Red Zone in order to score???

I would be confident if Loomis and DA were gone, but we retained Ireland. They have found a few good players but completely fumbled the handlings at the top.

Loomis is just arrogant. He probably always has been, but when you have Payton and his enormous ego as the face of the organization, it isn't as noticeable. With Payton gone and beta boy DA as head coach, Loomis' true colors are shining through. He knows he has the GM job as long as he wants it and is not answerable to anyone, including the fans.

That's my take at least.

Based on the interviews and what we have been allowed to see regarding Loomis, this is a reasonable take IMO....

Y'all this is some bull.
Loomis is in the Will. He ain't going nowhere

So with our entire management/ownership/coaching staffs being made up of knuckle dragging, lying and just plain evil A holes we're forgetting about these people's families. Who knows what kinds of foul conspiracies their kids are spreading through our communities? Next thing you know all our kids will be gay, woke, snow flake Democrats! And let's not even talk about their wives! It's a family friendly forum.

Keep your heads buried in the sand while DA and Loomis sell us out to the Russians and Chinese.

No wonder we only won 9 games this year!
That’s how they get ya

^ And here we have it. Loomis was a signing boy for Payton. If you want to believe otherwise, so be it. Now he has a Coach with no nads and is much like DA (enter deer in headlights). Not a good combination.
