The NBA title is the hardest title in Major sports to win. (1 Viewer)

:plus-un2:

NHL teams have to do the same thing as the NBA, 16 wins in two months.

The NBA playoffs do not have the intensity of the Stanley Cup playoffs. When the final scores are 2-1 instead of 94-91, and you may have to throw the dukes at any time, there really is no comparison.

I'm a fan of both the NBA and NHL, and it isn't even really that close.

It's the Stanley Cup, end thread. :worthy:

Agreed. Anyone who disagrees doesn't watch hockey to understand the passion, desire and physical strength required to get Lord Stanley's Cup. I like basketball too, but the physical and mental demands of playoff hockey is much higher than basketball.

What is the atmosphere like in New Orleans with the Hornets success?

If I were a Hornets fan however, I'd be worried about how this team would matchup with the Lakers, Spurs, Suns, and maybe even the Mavs to a lesser extent.
The Hornets' records against these teams:

-Lakers: 2-1
-Spurs: 2-2 (including the worst two losses for the Spurs this season, one of which was the worst home loss in the Tim Duncan era)
-Phoenix: 4-0 sweep
-Dallas: 2-1

Watch more basketball. :9:

The past 20 years has seen only 6 different teams win a title.
Bulls,Pistions,Spurs,Lakers,Heat,Rockets

The NHL,MLB and NFL have seen 10-12 different teams win titles in the same 20 year period.

To win an NBA title, you have to win 16 playoff games spread out over a two month period.

You can win the Superbowl win only 3 playoff victories if you get the bye-week.

Can our Hornets win 16 playoff games????

Same thing with hockey and I promise hockey games are more physical.

Also, when players start playing with broken wrists and fractured ankles in the NBA let me know. And no, I'm not talking about tape on a bum finger.

NBA is for wussies

No I didn't say that, but the OP of the thread said that NBA playoffs are the toughest because they must win 16 games over 2 months... which is exactly the same as hockey.

But whether you like hockey or not you have to admit hockey is a MUCH more physical sport, so hockey playoffs = MUCH tougher.

Running takes more energy than skating. Having to use more energy>skating around slamming people.

I am not a fan of the NHL, but I don't hate hockey itself. I know its a tough sport and everything, I just don't think it is as tiresome as basketball. I played both when I was younger. Hockey by far was the easier of the two. Basketball is so much more of a strain on your legs and your mind IMO.

Yes we've all seen the large amounts of stitches it takes to heal those cuts caused by running!

Blocking a puck as hard as a rock (frozen) at point blank range with any part of your body you can throw in front of it is definitely not as tough as taking a charge.
