These are huge- that goes without saying. While philly has sucked, they're still a talent loaded roster and it's never easy playing there on the road.

As for Atlanta- the thing that has me most nervous is the short rest period (Thursday night football). They are much improved but far from unbeatable- I expect both games to be extremely close....thoughts?

I see these games more as a show me, but im not optimistic. We just went to ot at home against a brandon weeden led offense missing its best defensive player. If we can win these, ill start to believe in our chances, but not getting my hopes up.

if they can beat the eagles, and have a chance to come home on another night game to pull to 3-3 against the rival falcons, i think they can play the falcons well. by that time hopefully the defensive starters would be close to 100% along with Brees

We barely won the last game against Philly, and Drew threw 2 interceptions. We have to take better care of the ball this time or they will run us out of Lincoln Field.

Atlanta, well, they have grabbed a firm hold of the new "SB designed" team and we just have to hang on in that game.

If we keep playing at our current level I think we beat the Eagles, Jags, and Bucs to end the season at 4-12. Until our play improves I just don't see it. I do think with a healthy Byrd, Ellerbe, and Lewis maybe the worm turns on D, but on offense we have a lack of playmakers and that is just how it is.....Spiller needs to be phenomenal for us to have any chance at dominance.

We win no less than 6 or 7 games. If we win in Philly there's a decent chance we beat ATL. ATL looks a lot better than they are simply because they have the easiest schedule in America. Improved? Yes! Really good team? NO!

I like our chances against Philly b/c they have been playing sub-par up to this point.
Atlanta.....that's a different story. The only thing I can really put my hope in is that our games are always close. So based on history, we have a shot. Also, didn't we beat an undefeated Atlanta that year Payton was suspended?

I have us losing both of these.....if we win even 1 I'll be beyond shocked. Optimism creeping in after a win is normal but make no mistake.....we have a lot of work to do to be competitive with most teams in the league.

call me a downer , but lets be real we are " exactly what the dr ordered" for their offense. its gonn be ugly

Lol... What have you seen that would make you say that?

I hate the ATL game. Hate it. If we cant put pressure on Ryan, he is gonna go nuts (like any half decent QB would). I see no reason to believe our pass rush will improve. It will all go down to the pass rush. Im with the above post that my expectations are greatly diminished for our season, so its gonna be fun to watch and see how the young guns react. I do think that our offensive woes are more playcalling than lack of talent. Sure, we have no all-world TE, WRs...but tell me: if Snead sees 12 targets, how will his stats look? The guy catches everything throw his way. Feed him until someone stops him. The running game is what it is with our average o-line. Lets see...

Very legit question. Maybe it's blind optimism. Who knows? Only time will tell.

What I do know is we continue to GET BETTER on defense and we are getting more and more healthy. We have at the current time the favorite for defensive rookie of the year, we have some solid play in the secondary that will only continue to improve (getting Byrd back will help Browner), Richardson has shown he is going to be a big threat on the Dline, and our LB play is getting better. There is no reason at all to think the Saints won't have an opportunity to win some games. Playing as BAD as some of you have pointed out the Saints have still be in games (EVERY GAME). So, there is not ONE team on the Saints schedule that they cannot hang with. So, winning 6 games is VERY possible. That is without another OUNCE of improvement. Improving each week could lead to more than 6 wins. Guess we will see who's right in the long run. The Saints will be 7-4 or 6-5 after week 11. I know I know, I am blind or whatever. Just watch!

Make no mistake, ATL is going to be really tough for us. But, don't forget the emotional aspect involved. Thursday night, National audience, at home in the dome! I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm very excited to see the falcons' WR against our secondary. I know its probably they will get torched by them, but I don't care. I just think it will be a great experience for our DBs to go against one of the top group of WR in the game.

emotions can factor in when you have 2 similarly talented teams, like us and dallas last sunday, but talent wise we're nowhere near the team that atlanta is right now so the better team should easily win that game. It's a division game which means anything can happen but, again, I will be beyond shocked if we keep that game even close. My guess is atlanta by 14+.
