The next two games (Philly, ATL) (1 Viewer)

Very legit question. Maybe it's blind optimism. Who knows? Only time will tell.

What I do know is we continue to GET BETTER on defense and we are getting more and more healthy. We have at the current time the favorite for defensive rookie of the year, we have some solid play in the secondary that will only continue to improve (getting Byrd back will help Browner), Richardson has shown he is going to be a big threat on the Dline, and our LB play is getting better. There is no reason at all to think the Saints won't have an opportunity to win some games. Playing as BAD as some of you have pointed out the Saints have still be in games (EVERY GAME). So, there is not ONE team on the Saints schedule that they cannot hang with. So, winning 6 games is VERY possible. That is without another OUNCE of improvement. Improving each week could lead to more than 6 wins. Guess we will see who's right in the long run. The Saints will be 7-4 or 6-5 after week 11. I know I know, I am blind or whatever. Just watch!

I agree that the Saints are improving, but Atlanta is good. This is the NFL. They haven't beaten 4 directional schools.

emotions can factor in when you have 2 similarly talented teams, like us and dallas last sunday, but talent wise we're nowhere near the team that atlanta is right now so the better team should easily win that game. It's a division game which means anything can happen but, again, I will be beyond shocked if we keep that game even close. My guess is atlanta by 14+.
You are so wrong. Yes, Atlanta is much better than us right now. But emotion can factor in any game in the NFL.

I am with you. A lot of times my blind optimism gets the best of me. I really think this defense will come around. I think the Thursday night game is favorable for us as the less prep time normally leads to lower scoring games. I'll go with 6-4 for the bye. I have the lone loss @ Indy, but we'll see.

Also. Last week Atlanta barely won against the same Dallas team we barely won.

Why their win count and our win don't? If Dallas almost won against them, why we have no chance?

I'm not saying we will win, but in a divisional game, anything can happen.

Atlanta wins by 14+, playing 2009 Saints football with a little more talent on D.

We won by 11 points. I didn't know that was Barely winning. Lmao

And we won by 6.

And your super talented defense gave up 28 points while our bad defense gave up 20.

Who said super talented? Lol. I thought I said a little more talent. Take your black & gold goggles off.

I hate the ATL game. Hate it. If we cant put pressure on Ryan, he is gonna go nuts (like any half decent QB would). I see no reason to believe our pass rush will improve. It will all go down to the pass rush. Im with the above post that my expectations are greatly diminished for our season, so its gonna be fun to watch and see how the young guns react. I do think that our offensive woes are more playcalling than lack of talent. Sure, we have no all-world TE, WRs...but tell me: if Snead sees 12 targets, how will his stats look? The guy catches everything throw his way. Feed him until someone stops him. The running game is what it is with our average o-line. Lets see...

This. The only way we even stay competitive in this game is if we can manufacture some kind of pass rush against Ryan.

All I'm hoping for is to at least stay competitive and the game at least be within reach in the 4th qtr as this will be the only game I get to attend this year.

Although, the teams record is 6-0 when I'm in attendance, so you never know...

Not even close. Look at who we played early in the season in 2009.

Lol I'll use another comparison since comparing them to the 09 Saints team puts guys in their feelings here so I'll say great O & ok defense. Lol

This is just ridiculous...

We were blowing teams out from the jump in 2009. The first time we even got tested was in the Miami game in like week 7, and then we ended up winning that game pretty handily.

Enjoy your success while it lasts... But don't get carried away.
