The Older I get the Less I Can Stand Teenagers!

Seriously, this post really ticks me off.

Just for the record, I hate all of you too, then.

Seriously, I mean, I can't stand a lot of things adults do, but I don't say that I hate adults. I understand that just because I dislike some adults I don't have to dislike them all. It's really frustrating that you hate teenagers, when you probably only focus on the bad conduct that you see out of them.

I am 16 years old, don't smoke, don't do any drugs, don't drink at ALL, respect older people very much and act very mature for my age. I take every opportunity I can to work hard and help other people in the process, and always try to make myself a better person. So to hate me because I am a teenager is really ridiculous. I strongly hate a lot of the things my peers do, and try not to associate with the ones that do really dumb things, but in High School if I didn't associate with anyone that did things I disapprove of I'd never talk to anyone. So do you hate me? If so, burn in hell.

Wow :blink1:?! I don't think it was that serious.

Truer words cannot be spoken, and virtually no one over a certain age feels otherwise. Do not be offended, teenagers, as it is not personal, and it is not that anyone hates "you." It is just an awkward stage of life, and the same people who were teenagers just a few years ago, look back and hate what they were, too. Its the stage of life being hated, not the individuals, who likely will turn out fine in the long run.

Telling people to burn in hell isn't too mature. :idunno:

Neither is telling someone you hate them because of the actions of someone else in the same age group as them..

Maybe i hate everyone in the same age group as Don Imus because he's a racist, so maybe they're all racist. That is completely and utterly senseless.

I dont know that I hate teenagers, but I sure as heck dont connect with them. Honestly, 18 to 24 year olds annoy me much more. They have the body and ability and intelligence of any given aged adult, and have the mind of late high school teenagers, little maturity, and little experience, and sometimes a lacking in common sense. It makes for a bad combo.

There are exceptions of course.

Sorry for the double post, but anyway, they call that child abuse now :covri:. It's a darn shame you can't punish children without ridicule (no, I don't have children, but I can emphasize for I have worked with younger people before).

Your right... My Grandpa whipped me once and I'll never forget it... Too bad I had so many females and tree huggers in my family... Coulda used some more.

and the funny thing... I would have learned something from him if I had only listened... But I guess that is my mistake and mine alone...

But by the same token... My Granny "Opal Belle" whipped me with a fly swatter... I was a strong teenage at the time... But I ended up feeling so bad that I had made her mad to begin with... She was the Greatest Woman that I ever knew...

I think "teenager" now covers between 12 to 24, as young kids start acting out earlier and earlier, and are taking longer, and longer, to grow up.

I work with teenagers on a daily basis. Mostly 9-12 graders but on occasion younger. However, the ones I work with are athletes. And to be honest, these kids, when I see them, are exactly the same as when I grew up and the same kids I've seen for the past 11 years in my profession. Now, on the other hand, I have had a few run ins with some non-athletes and it affirms my decision to not go into teaching. I seriously would have had trouble not losing my temper with some.

I think...

That I will pick a flower from my yard... throw it in a saddlebag... and lay it in Arkansas on her grave...

This is my promise for 2008...

Teenagers are a great source of amusement. They are so transparent in their motives, even when they're trying to hide them. It's very entertaining and cracks me up.

I would GLADLY go back to when I was a teenager. Let's just say I had LOTS of fun, probably too much, which is why I'm still digging out of the hole I'm in today...:smilielol:

Welcome to middle age...

I was a dumb, hard headed teenager until June 5, 1995. That was the day I stepped on those little yellow footprints at MCRD San Diego.

Man, what a wake up call. Everything my Mom and Dad said suddenly made sense! This would be a great option for many teenagers today.
