The Refs Were Bad In Saints/Chiefs Game (1 Viewer)

C'mon, we all know that the Saints have extreme difficulty covering tight ends, that is why we saw so many triple tight end sets in this game.
Smell the roses......Cannot believe the cowboys did not see this problem.

Every fan of every team blames the Refs. We all know that Refs suck, every team has to deal with it. Blaming them for loses is just cope.

Plenty of examples in all three loses that contributed to us losing that had zero to do with poor officials.
You know darn well that one play can change a game. College refs are just as bad.

We have to stop blaming refs and injuries.
Why? I’ve seen fans blame single players and coaches for entire seasons. Fans can blame whoever they want. Further more, blaming the refs and team aren’t mutually exclusive. The refs (and broadcast booth) showed favoritism to the chiefs whether it was on purpose or not.

I'm never one to shy away from blaming the refs, but if I'm being honest, I didn't think about them until the Olave PI no call, when the game was out of reach. I'd rather focus on finding a CB that doesn't cost us 50 penalty yards per game for PI.

This is the craziest thing I've ever heard. No one is blaming the refs. They have clearly stated that the refs didn't cause us to lose the game. Everyone is simply pointing out that the refs were biased. That is completely true, and it doesn't matter if you're a good team or a bad team. We were a good team a few years ago, and they were still biased against us. We even missed the Super Bowl because of it.

It's all about money. Referees "nudge" games in the direction preferred by the NFL. Good teams can often overcome it. Bad teams cannot. If you think things are bad now, just wait. We're only a couple years into the legal gambling and casino sponsors. As that market continues to grow, the NFL will continue to deteriorate.

Yes and no IMO. I agree that the NFL have their favorite teams/payers and I think referees tend to be scared of calling questionable fouls vs Mahones and Brady. I believe KC has not been called for a offensive holding in the last 3 Super Bowls. How is that even possible!

However, I don’t agree that it’s Vegas that is dictating the officiating. KC, for example, tends to get a lot bets in Vegas, so If they were interested in making that extra $, it would make sense for the Chiefs to lose more games. And obviously that is not happening.

There were a number of calls that didn’t get called while there were a number of calls that shouldn’t have been called.

Case and point:

Towards the end of the game a db tackled Olave before the ball got to him, but the refs didn’t throw a flag. Troy “CTE” Aikman joked, “yeah, these refs just want to go home.” Hardy har har.

However earlier in the game the refs called holding on the Saints when they were on defense, and they were defending against a run play. How does one get flagged for holding on a run play?

The refs didn’t cause the Saints to lose, but they certainly greased the skids to it inevitably happening.

As much as I love to blame cheating on the refs, and I felt that may have been the reason they put their flags in the their pockets at the end….so the Saints couldn’t score, go for 2, and cover the spread……there was definitely holding by us on that play. They just got the wrong number. Defensive tackles hold all of the time. Looked like 90 Bresee definitely grabbed and wrapped up two offensive linemen to try and free a linebacker up.

That's like saying we have t stop blaming the rain for getting the grass wet SMH
Well, often the grass is wet from moisture from inside the foundation. Not from above.

You could have called holding on the chiefs for 50% of their offensive plays. It just wasn't called.
And false starts on their tackles. And lining up offsides on their D-line.

I expect the Saints to play better and don't believe they affected the final outcome of the game...this time.

But what is complete horse crap is Troy calling for VERY questionable PI calls for KC early in the game, ignoring all of the bad calls and no-calls against the Saints all game, then finally declaring that the refs "want to go home" when the game is technically still in reach. On a penalty that was an absolutely egregious PI! Who gives a crap if they want to go home? They are already overpaid for what they do.
Troy is already terrible at his job, we didn't need that icing on the cake. It's clear he hold s grudge that plays out every time he calls a Saints game.
Dude is an absolute fool and should be called out for it. Quit and go smoke more crack with your buddy Irvin.

I don't want to be that guy, but I feel refs will be friendly to the Buccaneers, especially after what is going on this week.

Thing is many people will come on here and birch about the reffing but they will continue to bet and purchase streaming services. If you think it is fake why continue to waste your money?
