Analysis The Top 10 Guards In The 2025 Draft (2 Viewers)

Here is some interesting information on Donovan Jackson. He's one I would like to see the Saints draft.

#3- Donovan Jackson- (LG) Ohio St. 6'4"/320#)
Jackson has rare combination of size, power and athleticism that makes him scheme versatile, capable of excelling in both gap and zone running schemes.
In pass protection, Jackson's ability to anchor against power and mirror quickness will be immediately translatable to the pro game.
While there's still room for technical refinement, particularly in his hand usage and pad level consistency and with continued development, Jackson has the ceiling of a Pro-Bowl or All-Pro calibur Guard who can dominate in the run game and provide stalwart pass protection.

A thread on guards. Just wow, we're in bad shape. To the OP, I know the position is critical, but this is not a good sign.

This is why I started the post, the defenses are attacking the middle of our offensive line because they know it's our main weakness on the O-Line. Most of the pressure has been coming from the left side. We have an aging Lucas Patrick at LG and inadequate backups. Once McCoy returns it will get a little better, but we still need an upgrade at LG and a solid backup. Saldiveri is not cutting it at LG. He played mostly on the right side in college. I think he would be better suited to play at RG.

I don't disagree; it's just that these used to be positions that we could fill in the mid-rounds. We've whiffed on so many line picks in the last few years, and it's a shame. When I say whiffed, I don't mean bust; just guys need three years before they demonstrate any worth.

Oh I get you. I'm not suggesting taking one in the first round. But the Saints will need to look at getting one or two in the 2nd through 4th rounds. They have quite a few NFL ready ones in this 2025 draft. The Saints need to strengthen the LG spot.

most are busts. Penning is ok maybe. Whoever scouts our linemen need to be cut

#4- Luke Kandra- (RG/LG) Cincinnati (6'4"/323#)
Kandra has the ability to execute zone concepts with precision and climb to the second level, will have zone-heavy teams salivating. His ability to play multiple positions along the interior could make him make him a valuable sixth man early in his career. He has an explosive first step off the snap, consistently beating DT's to the punch and establishing leverage in both run and pass sets.

He is the best QB in college football, why are all yall so hardheaded about this?

Not hardheaded enough to know what an opinion is. I'd take Cam Ward over Shedeur in this draft and several underclassmen. Nothing against him but it's not like he's setting the world on fire.

Don't run from this, now I understand the Cam Ward argument and that's cool, but who are these several other players that are better than him.

I've changed up the order of some these players, because some of these guys are going to need some development before they can become starters on day one and some are going to be projects for a couple of seasons. I've also included some RG's for in case of long term injuries to Ruiz.

#5- D.J. Campbell- (RG) Texas (6'3"/330#)
Campbell is an imposing player whose natural gifts take over at the snap as he looks to create vertical displacement in the run game. Campbell is scheme-versatile with a good understanding of doubles, down blocks, zone concepts and getting to the second level.
As a pass protector, Campbell has a naturally low center of gravity that allows him to absorb power and anchor well against power rushers, stunters and blitzes.
He has the football IQ and experience to be a day one starter.

Run from this, you good bro? lol man you are taking this way too serious.

If I could draft the rights to Dylan Raiola, Arch Manning or Nico Iamafuturehalloffama when they come out after another two years of starting you couldn't pay me to draft Shedeur. Those are real NFL prospects. This is a bum class and Cam Ward is still solidly #1 to me, not even close.
